28 yr old leaf that had to move back into parents basement. Got accepted to uni, but in a city where the housing is Toronto tier and like $1.5k/mo for a studio (fuck that). A part of me wants to say fuck it and find something entry level like working at CN so I can just buy myself a shack in the woods somewhere, but I feel like the economy will rug the moment I start working. Idk what to think and am in a bit of analysis paralysis

28 and got a 3 month job in south france, first time living "alone". They give me food and a place to stay, so I'm thinking a roomfull of bunker beds. After a couple more jobs, I'm going pilgrim mode, travelling and camping with my moto. When in need of a job, I'll take temporary ones.

>started as a neet, socially retarded age 7+
>became an army veteran, then mentally ill
>turned into a paranoid alcoholic neet w/ ptsd
>hit rock bottom, psych ward, no money, no home etc. but loyal gf stayed
>got married to gf when I got out, had kids, acquired programming degree, worked IT job
>started working out and doing the meme blueprint diet, managed to haggle for free education benefits and enrolled into a software engineering degree online while I start a 3d printing side business and maybe work on short films
>about to finesse some massive backpay government check for misdiagnosed disability from 7 years ago and potentially buy a house
>finally see the light glinting in the dark tunnel after a life of child neglect, abuse, trauma, and severe isolation
>29 y/o, net worth is like 10k atm, only 5'7. Average looking, mixed Italian, lost of physical and mental issue shit.

trust me bros, you all can make it. It's just going to be a ride and the ride is fucking rough

Based story vet bro, you inspire me. Same age, similar status, very similar situation with education benefits. Just no more gf. Ex of 5 years took off, which makes it a bit rough getting out of bed in the morning if I'm being 110% straight. Trying to curb my internet and vidya addiction, and just moving my feet through the mud, but still moving. Glad things are uphill for you fren. Despite all this doom and gloom, I still crack a smile and hold on to this idea that we're in fact all gonna make it

Rebuild? I'm retired, this is my endgame. NEET and retirement are exactly the same thing.

Being a neet is better than anything. That's only if you are happy with your situation. In fact the less you do the better you are. Most humans only contribute to the destruction of a calm and natural world.

It's not as fun as you think it's going to be. Sweatshop even.

I've been diagnosed with schizophrenia but wasn't diagnosed until 2013, which was 2 years after I got out. My symptoms probably started before I got out. I was diagnosed by a VA doctor. I had some stressful events while I was in and was wondering if I can claim schizophrenia.
