As I would be making money anyway and have other investments, I went into this treating it similarly to emergency food/water. Good to have just-in-case.
Now with food and water, the products can eventually expire and be worth no where close to what they were. The gear might not ever get used. Same as the fire extinguisher in the house.
And if that's not fine, one shouldn't be stacking. Since coming here I've repeatedly seen people tell newbies not to dump everything into it. It's a measure for a potential scenario.
Although considering when I bought my gold I could sell it now for a profit and the odds are good both will keep rising as new applications are found. A slow burn, but something that could come in handy if scenarios similar to Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Lebanon (sorted by recency) unfold.

Peace Dollars are much more commodity-like and are better to stack.
Both still have high premiums, though. I prefer US halves/quarters/dimes.
