Hey I've heard about the apes for a long time and I have normie level understanding of the stock market, but my understanding is that there's a bunch of naked shorts on GME and some others and motivated retail investors who just won't sell, so eventually the hedge fund and potentially the whole brokeridge firm will have to be liquidated to pay the holders of GME.

My question is what would happen if the fed just said "this is too dangerous for the financial system, so we are going to make you take 200 a share, or 1,000 even?

Is there any technical effect of them doing that or anything other than mad people preventing them from just doing that?

please go back to wherever you came from and do not encourage this mental illness to stray out of containment. Thank you.

If they attempt that, we have worse problems because then they admit how broke they are.

Not gonna happen. GME will just dilute their shares to bail out the hedge fund. You'd be better off doing this with commodities which can't be diluted.

>>54260636
Are you retarded?
Diluting shares doesn't help. If you own 1% of all shares then you will own 1% after dillution too. The percentage is what matters, the total value and percentage you own stays the same no matter how much you dilute.

They diluted once to raise some money and that was it. GME isn’t AMC where they have monthly dilutions against their shareholders desires.

In a stock split your shares will double. Dilution is just them issuing new shares and crushing current share holders. So I guess it's you that is retarded

No, it's force majeure, which means that trading is halted and you get cash-settled, that's it. The stock market is an elaborate game, at the end of the day, and when it breaks down, someone can just come in and say "right, we're stopping the game, this has gotten out of hand". Simple as, really.

The actual commodity can't be diluted, but I assume you're not buying the actual grain and oil, just some digits that say you did.

The point is to buy physical assets until the market breaks. Trying to short squeeze GME is like trying to bankrupt a casino in blackjack. Only way to bankrupt a casino is to collectively cash out and refuse to play their games.

Ahh yes, commodities. Those bags of rocks labelled nickel sure can't be diluted. If you don't have a warehouse and logistics connections you are just a cuck with a piece of paper.

>> No.54262257

>>54262193
Exactly. Buy the physical outside of the exchange and let the distributors buy the rocks. Eventually that exchange collapses.

While that is true, purely mechanically, a share in GME is as immaterial as a futures contract. They had squeezes in commodities on multiple occasions, like with nickel, where they just rewound the trading day on the LME a few months' back. The contract is not the subject of the contract; the contract is just some agreement which can be cancelled at any time. These squeezes rely on the assumption that contracts will be honored under such circumstances, but if, say, silver starts going to 50, 100, and 500 an ounce, they're not going to say "well, the contract says you're entitled to the silver", they'll say "well, we don't have the silver, figure that".
Even you said "buy physical assets" - I'm not saying "don't" or that you don't, I just want to recall that you're not buying the physical asset by buying a futures contract on it.

>I just want to recall that you're not buying the physical asset by buying a futures contract on it
I never said to buy the futures contract. My point was to stop playing their gambling games. Newly created GME shares will trade the same as the old shares. Bags of rocks will not trade the same as nickel.

One thing I'm thinking is that the Apes aren't just like 4Chan type only, there are very normal people, so it will be harder to just demonize them away like the Jan6 ers. And when the MOASS begins, tens or hundreds of thousands of Boomers and normal investors will get on board, and will realize the situation and trying to pull some shenanigans will just not be easy.

How many "apes" are there already?

And also, presumably there are powerful people who seek to win on this, just like there are on the citadel side, correct? Could anyone give me a brief rundown on what that looks like? Who are the "apes" currently and how many etc?

>> No.54262732

>>54260498
I've been saying it was torch and pitchfork time since they removed the buy button. But if this happens, I think it may push enough apes over the edge to see some fireworks. If people like Mayo boy and the Rat-Goblin all of a sudden went missing you'd start seeing results.

Not happening and I'll move to trading GME on ETH if they try.
