I have been drinking their 300mg espresso can pretty much daily for the past year or so. I was browsing the energy drink section at the gas station curious to try something new and I saw the big 300, and noticed it wasn't just another fruity fizz energy drink, but that it was a coffee drink. I tried it and it lit me the fuck up like Christmas lights dude, I still get that feeling obviously not as strong as the first time but yeah it's pretty good, I could see myself drinking these for awhile, and I don't have to drink it all at once I spread it out over the course of a few hours.

I don't know anything about their company though I literally just tried the coffee and liked it. I'd buy some I've lost money in worse ways.

Starbucks IS a high bar to beat. If youre talking quality, its beaten by local coffee shops but there arent near as many of those and they dont have drive thrus. It is better quality than any other similar coffee shop with drive thrus and a ton of stores in the US. The food is also higher quality than dunkin donuts breakfast items for example, dunkin donuts sucks cock overall imo. supposedly it varies based on region, idk.

The more interesting starbucks competitor is Dutch Bros, though that is more of a niche given that its basically all Iced Coffee/cold brew/syrups and foam type drinks. You cant just order a plain hot coffee there. And the pastries they have come wrapped in cellophane. So its interesting because they apparently have a cult following and maybe their iced drinks are a little better than Starbucks (no idea if that is true) but Starbucks has everything, and will have something substantially similar to everything on offer at Dutch Bros. Also, their stores are drive thru and have a walkup-window, but no cafe inside, and yet, apparently it is fairly expensive for them to build a single store. You'd assume they were saving money there on building a store but the one near me takes up about as much space as a starbucks would.

TL;DR Starbucks is the King and will remain so. My area has had a bunch of SBUX competitors appear recently, like Black Rife, BlackRock, Dutchbros, Dunkin (wasnt here before) but all of them get mogged by Starbucks and the lines I see at starbucks vs. the others are proof of that

I would rather support a coffee company that uses its profits to invest in the farmers who grow the stuff. Coffee comes from third world countries where people bust their asses producing it just to earn enough to survive in their impoverished communities. Farming is the most honest and decent occupation a person can have, and these people do it for basically nothing so we can have our caffeine fix. The profit margins on our end are huge, and the people who actually produced the product we consume hardly get any of what we pay for it. It isn't right.
