The government made $100B so far on the TARP "bailouts" I don't see the problem helping shore up their books, especially if it's just using a loan that will eventually paid back with interest and bring more money into the US Treasury.

Seems more likely a bigger bank will step in and scoop up SIVB, though. Doesn't sound like this is something systemic in the financial sector and the hole in their balance sheet isn't that huge.
