This is anecdotal, but I just deposited a 30k payroll check at my bank (Chase) from the company bank (Wells Fargo). I knew there would be a hold on probably some of it, even though there hasn't been on my last 3 paychecks (I deposit amounts of this size and larger every 2-3 months). Chase put a fucking 15 day hold on the check with none of it available until then. Keep in mind this is from the same employer, same bank, and same account number I have been depositing 5-6 figure checks from for 5 years. They cleared it on Tuesday, but was odd. The branch manager said it was weird they didn't give a reason. I also know 100% there was money there because I overnighted a 300k check for a job deposit two days before. This was Saturday of last week, funds (((available))) on Tuesday with hold still on it, fully cleared Wednesday

Wells Fargo wasn't letting me make Zelle transfers outside of their bank yesterday. This was very odd and mysterious and happened even before this news. All the CEOs know something's going down and have set systems on maximum restraint as far as money goes.
