The market could go up, down, or sideways. Bulls will be looking for momentum to the upside breaking key resistance. Bears will be looking for momentum to the downside breaking key support. Crabs will be looking for false breakouts that return to the center. If price breaks key support, prices could move lower. If price breaks key resistance, prices could move higher. If price fails to break, it will move sideways. Traders will be watching key levels next week for more information Edition.

This is where it's at to me, I saw a quote from some famous trader (apparently) that said something to the effect of whether it's a small or large amount, % is where it's at. The way I see it, % scales, so if you can figure out what to do with a small amount in terms of % growth, then when you get a crack at higher balances the same principles should just keep working, no differently. Of course, there are certain *instruments* that get opened up with larger balances.

Is this not obvious? You should never think in terms of absolute numbers, only relative terms.
Who cares if a company posted $10m in profits? What is that as a percentage of their revenue? What is the change in % from last year? Etc.
Incidentally, even the price is somewhat of a misnomer, since you should be looking at marketcap of a company. I'm doing this to map cash flows by sector

I have a system. I've tried to explain it multiple times in length. I'm kinda burnt out on it. Martingale works. You can try to time tops/bottoms pretty accurately/never buy short dated options

2x etfs are ideal. 3x etfs can delist.

I was pretty much the only bull in October.. I was shilling dfen calls and all kinds of shit.. my biggest problem desu is not letting my winners run. I'll see a nice fat green number and sell a call that ends up going giga retard parabolic

Average into a position. Play etfs instead of individual stocks. If you are selling for a loss you are probably doing it wrong. Sitting on cash is a good thing (this is hard to do but crucial)

Thanks man. I was asking more so though about the mechanics behind how leveraged ETFs are maintained, like how they have to constantly rebalance the derivatives that keep the ETF leveraged. Apparently that eats into/messes with your profits if you are holding the position long term. That's what normies say at least, to only hold leveraged ETFs for quicker scalping purposes. No clue if its true or not though, also have no clue if rebalancing the derivatives on leveraged ETFs effects the p/l if one is holding option contracts or not. The easiest thing you can fuck up is not keeping the box nice and humid. It should be like wet and warm when you open it up (that's what she said). If they are stalling it's probably because the environment is fucked (water). You can get a little spray bottle and mist the box with water.

I've seen it in various places like brokerage learning articles and, as you mention, Investopedia. This is the only discussion place that I go so I have not seen people saying it conversationally, so it looks to me like the absolutely standard view. That's why it has always baffled me to see the long plays that this fellow and a few others have done (the rest have mostly been the SOXL/SOXS gang).

Coco coir just seems to dry excessicely fast when I unbox. Have to check repeatedly and mist. It also began fruiting earlier than it was ready since full colonization hadn't finished. I can still see much of my substrate in between the nets. Anyways. I capped the bin for the night since I habe work tomorrow to help retain moisture even if it limits airflow now that fruiting has occured.

Regarding weight-I turned my dehydrator up to 46celcius for eight hours and getting that cracker dry feel. Tomorrow I will have a much more controlled by weight test. >Look dude cool you have 300k so you wanna buy coke stock like a scared little bitch boomer that's cool man
I'm not generating 50-60% TW CAGR returns sitting in KO collecting divvies. I use multiple strategies. I started that portfolio with 100k

If you had six figs you'd probably already understand why your style of gambling will lead to an eventual blowup. Either that or you'll ignorantly continue on your same path and unfortunately you will blow up sooner or later. Then you'll be right back to low 5 figs.
You have to run a different strategy when you're playing with a big enough stack that you can't completely refill your portfolio off a few months of paychecks. Capital preservation becomes essential. You can no longer just gamble blindly with the idea that you'll refill any losses with the next paycheck. Think about money weighted vs time weighted return.

Perhaps the optimal strategy with a 4 fig portfolio is to fuck with options until you get a big hit. You're basically leveraging your future paychecks and taking a small shot in hopes to get a big headstart. After 5-10 tries you're likely to hit once and then you have a real starter port balance. Alternatively just stash all those paychecks and wait until 5+ figs before you even start investing.
The optimal strategy at mid five-figs is to swing some leverage but start thinking about calming down. You haven't really made it yet, but losing is still a hard reset back to nothing.
Once you hit mid six-figs, you need a real risk management strategy or you're gonna lose everything at some point. Try to understand concepts like the kelly criterion.

So when you post that you've flipped some leveraged ETF trade one month for a 100% return, it doesn't really mean anything. Plenty of single positions go up or down 50% in a month, even the largest companies in the world like TSLA. Add leverage and you're at 150%. It's not unusual for even 3-4 coinflips to hit heads in a row, but eventually tails always hits.

What pump? Gas was oversold, and recovered due to production cuts (underwhelming) and a cold snap (temporary). I'm bullish on it overall, but the macro situation hasn't changed. All producers are sitting on a glut of surplus gas, and analysts estimate $3.4 average this year, $3 max for the spring.

it measures 30 day options premiums on the S&P500, meaning how much does it cost to buy "insurance" on the market. it measures *implied* volatility, or how much the investors think the market could move. a higher vix moves more wild swings and general more Fearful investor sentiment.

>> No.53951974

>>53951917
so basically you got these things called options contracts right, and i'll get to the vix in a moment. but options have a set time period i.e. expires in X amount of days for when they exist, as they simply don't last forever. So what people have done, is compiled these contract expiration numbers to have an idea of how much "implied volatility" the market would have as a whole -- if people think the market is going to swing one way or another, more and more people are going to be using options contracts to hedge and/or speculate in either direction

so the vix right, which stands for volatility index, is basically a number that goes up the more dated contracts and volume people have for a greater period of time (there's more math involved but it's sorta like this). this means if vix is high, people would have a lot of contracts to hedge and/or speculate, meaning that real shit is going down. it's why the vix is called the "fear" index or the happening index, basically. and it's also why it has a downward bias, as things over time, naturally calm down. you can see the vix during the covid crash for example, it spikes and then went down

so if you're "long" the vix via VXX or some other measure that tracks the vix, you are basically betting on a happening or the situation of things escalating. but remember, while has a downward bias, human nature has a fearful, negative bias. so even though the vix has historically only ever gone down in a macro trend (look up all its reverse splits), people still use it to hedge when they're scared (which does sometimes work if they're right). hope this helps

The US tech sector is a weird animal. It's not like a good industrial, supermarket chain, basic material etc. where you invest in good companies or think about long-term trends. Every company is shit, run by normies and outright dystopian to a level where I'm not sure I want them to have my money, look at Google - who the fuck enjoys using their products with all the constant demands for your data and tied functionality? Who can look at their main revenue and thinks it's still sustainable or that the model hasn't become immediately outdated by AI?

I feel really old when I look at this stuff but I also know the tech sector I'd want to invest in would by definition not be profitable. I'm thinking of giving up stock picking in tech and just settling into a tracker because I know the companies are all bad but I also know they'll still somehow make money.

If you're referring to getting FDA approval, you might as well not have those. data is easily manipulated, they only serve to give a buffer in responsibility at this point. They make sense as a testing regiment, sure. That's not the same thing as putting a government stamp on these things.
It's also the FDA that would have stopped the guy who discovered that skin cancer could be stopped by vaccination. See, nobody wanted to pay for the clinical trials out of the "big pharma." So he used all his own money, and begged up everyone he knew, putting his family into poverty conditions.

Good intentions end up where we are, nobody can use a US court to get a recompense, so now we have mRNA designers getting murdered.

I don't doubt it. That's not an answer. Those are almost always "treatments." They're shots in the dark to create a novel chemical.

What you don't see, or hear, is that having set up the FDA conditions to make any testing at all, treatments that would put these faggots out of business can't get funded. That's the point I'm making. The vaccine that actually cures a common type of skin cancer wasn't on the profit line for any of the companies that can routinely afford the Gate Keeping They Created.
