It's definitely the worst actor of the chemicals I saw described. But most of the hazard is going to be in the initial days, you won't be seeing widespread, persistent contamination from burning. A burn is preferable to an explosion or letting it infiltrate into the soils and groundwater.

The various ethalyene compounds don't persist very long in the environment, there was likely some petroleum released if any engine derailed which will also be a concern. People don't appreciate just how toxic gas and diesel are, they're easily the most toxic chemicals the average person encounters on a daily basis. The fact that we're hand wringing over shit like PFAS when people are handling so many petrochemicals on a daily basis would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.
