wagies got a free few thousand dollars and thought they were the landed gentry all of a sudden. now they come crawling back to scrape toilets for 13 dollars an hr all at the same time like lemmings. its fascinating really.

I haven't been a wagie in 10 years, I started my own business last year

the main point is the psyop that isn't true

It keeps UBI out of public discourse to make sure everybody understands there is always a job out there for you.

>80 people applying
probably 80% of these applicants have garbage resumes, even for a janitor job, or are disqualified from working for numerous reasons, like violent felonies, drug addiction, or no transportation to work.

and then you have to consider that the job posting is likely fake and they have no intent of hiring anyone right now. they just keep the job listing up and active to harvest resumes so they can have their pick of desperate wagies when their underpaid wagies inevitably quit for a better job.

It’s because it’s a basic botch janitor job. I have a masters and I’ve been switching jobs every six months while employed just to upscale my salary, and it keeps getting easier.

you're just a slave willing to take more severe punishment, that's what it takes to get a masters

This post on /biz/ discusses the phenomenon of many people applying for basic janitor jobs that pay only $13 an hour. The original poster (OP) is confused as to why this is happening, and other posters offer their explanations. One poster suggests that people who received a few thousand dollars in stimulus money thought they were suddenly wealthy and are now desperate for work. Another suggests that the job postings are fake and are only used to harvest resumes. A third suggests that people are willing to take more severe punishment, such as getting a masters degree, in order to get a better job. An interesting point made is that the abundance of applicants for low-paying jobs keeps the idea of Universal Basic Income (UBI) out of public discourse.
