well, now that smg is completely bullish, time to reposition

>“We believe investors should fade the YTD rally as recession risks are merely postponed rather than diminished,” a team of strategists led by Kolanovic wrote in a note to clients. He continues to see downside risk for the stock market since the Federal Reserve will likely keep interest rates high for some time as the economy is slowing and corporate earnings are weakening.

>Kolanovic’s team reiterated what JPMorgan’s Mislav Matejka wrote in a note to clients on Sunday, saying “fundamental confirmation for next leg higher might not come,” with the first three months of the year likely marking a “turning point” for markets with “no Fed pivot in sight.” As a result, markets could encounter even weaker earnings growth through the second and third quarters of 2023.

>“A weak trajectory for US domestic demand keeps recession risk elevated, even as the tightness in labor markets postpones this recession risk,” Kolanovic wrote. “Meanwhile, restrictive real policy rates represent an ongoing headwind, keeping the risk of a recession later in the year high.”

Jesus christ. I was all about the dump after / during the FOMC today. Got hit hard. Chased losses, racked up 15k in losses quick. Pivoted to buying QQQ and reduced the losses to 5k.
However my last planned play was to short 2,000 shares of META. i had my finger on the trigger at market close when I just said "fuck it, everything else you've done today has been wrong"
the second i quit the order the mega candle appeared.
so it could have been worse.

Powell was dovish. He talked about higher for longer but also stated that we do have strong disinflation happening and this is a good sign. That in the March projection they will come out with new economic projection for hikes going forward(implying a potential policy shift) And if inflation falls faster than expected THEY WILL CUT.

it's not a white horse
Christ rides the white horse
The color of Death's horse is written as khlōros (χλωρός) in the original Koine Greek,[48] which can mean either green/greenish-yellow or pale/pallid.[49] The color is often translated as "pale", though "ashen", "pale green", and "yellowish green"[34] are other possible interpretations (the Greek word is the root of "chlorophyll" and "chlorine"). Based on the uses of the word in ancient Greek medical literature, several scholars suggest that the color reflects the sickly pallor of a corpse.[5][50] In some modern artistic depictions, the horse is distinctly green.[51][52][53]

Bitcoin actually had quite a more reasonable risk profile. You could have put $100 in it and watch it go, just like paying money for a game or donating to a company you like and not thinking about it. Now you'd almost certainly have sold when it went 10x instead of 100000x but when you put in such small sums, it's very easy for most people to hold even when the paper value says ludicrous things like 10k worth, compared to if you put in 20k and are looking at a 10% return. Psychology magic.

Hey guys, remember when I was being autistic with this chart last week?
Well as it turns out, I found two major flaws with it.
>1.) Input prices were in absolute dollar amounts and not % changes. Stuff like SPY/DOW didn't correlate nearly as strongly, and SPY/UUUU for example were at 86% correlation, whereas adjusting it in terms of daily % change is actually a -0.06% correlation
>2.) Different trading sessions. Stocks trade 5 days a week, forex trades 6 days a week, crypto is 24/7. There needs to be a way to adjust for daily% change so that numbers are fairly compared and aren't given more weight because of more trading days, nor should they have increased volatility as a result of adjusting for "closed" days

Here's how the next couple of quarters go. In March, we get raised another quarter percent, as expected. May, probably the same, though we could get surprised with a 0 point increase because inflation will be going down quickly, as per the one-year scale,;and during this time last year it was aggressively going up. So relative to that, it will look like it's going down super fast. After that there is no chance at a rate hike. All this time the market will be pricing that in. Which means lots of green days.

Ultimately, inflation is good for the stock market. You can recognize this by considering the stock market from something like 1901. Could that market handle trillion dollar market caps? Of course not. But today it can. The answer is because of inflation. When everything is normalized again, companies also inflate and price. It costs more to buy a company than it did before inflation. So we will be going to all time new highs. Wages have already gone up and will continue to go up during this process.

2023 could be legendary.

JEPI bros, what's your projected forward earnings from holding? I've done some research about the dividend its been giving (about 10-12 percent) and even JPMorgan says its extremely unlikely such dividends continue, due to the way JEPI gets a good chunk of its money from writing its special totally-not covered calls (some sort of exchange note thing). Sure, if I project a DRIP with 12% gains out for several years it looks great, but what will we do if JEPI drops to just 5% dividends?

>Muh money stock
M2 is perfectly in line with the trend it's been on for a long time now. The same trend line it's been on through every rally we've had for 20 years. Inflation was mostly caused by supply line while demand stayed the same or more. Now that the supply chain is essentially fixed, the rate hikes will actually create deflation which can't happen because wages have already gone up. So they will start cutting rates and we will go to all-time highs very quickly.

Timestamp on that? Need to see that. That jerk has been completely unclear since before the rate hikes started. Might signify something, but last dot plot I recall that would mean at another 75 to 100 bps hikes over the course of the year.

Get the feeling Im going to regret toss this much money in if the bottom suddenly falls out like 2018 all over again. From interest rates not mattering to suddenly for no reason whatsoever mattering a lot.
