I know hasbro’s stock fell because of low sales and the DND nonsense but what does this mean in relation to it? Is this implying part of the reason it went down was because of this or is this here meaning it’s going to fall down even further?

It sounds like they think hasbro stock will rise, but they cut the price they think it will rise to.
I'm not sure I agree with them.

Their general plan with wizards of the coast appears to be to just fleece/scalp their customers with new products and fees. It might work if wizards is the only company that can produce competent tcg and traditional rpg games, but the market feels saturated. Pissing off and bankrupting older players/collectors who are nostalgic for the IPs while raising prices for younger players or mod developers is a risky tactic. Boom or bust?

>>53475348
No, there are old cards that are worth a lot of money because they've never been reprinted in newer sets. They also have a prominent employee, mark rosewater, who promised or kinda-sorta promised, that they'd never be reprinted. This created a huge secondary market for collectors. Some of these cards are worth well over $10k. They have recently begun reprinting a few of the cards that mark rosewater said wouldn't be reprinted. This represents a potentially humongous threat to the collector community.

A company that can produce great games and utilizes the blockchain would be tremendous.

Is there any legitimacy to this? Hasbro makes the figures and toys for Star Wars, Marvel and Indiana Jones. The only IP’s of value they’d get by purchasing Hasbro are transformers and DnD, the former of which is just kind of okay and the latter nearly being torpedoed by hasbro’s greed and giving way to dozens of dnd like games that could surpass it.

Isn’t it theoretically more beneficial for Disney to just keep Hasbro how it is?

I have no clue. A Google search doesn't produce any recent results. It wouldn't surprise me though.

Could explain the deeper underlying reason for the WOTC/Alta Fox thing.

>> No.53477250

>>53477212
What’s the Alta fox thing? Also I don’t really think there is a deeper underlying reason for the WotC thing aside from money and boosting revenue.

In full disclosure, I only say that because when I was 10 my mom threw out a Mox Pearl and a Mox Sapphire without asking me when we moved so I'm extremely salty about it.

I can't decide whether it's better to concede anything ever on 4chan, or to just double down on in a batman gambit to troll. The relative anonymity and the nature of arguement make it a tough call

There were some estimations, maybe around $100mln if you intend to buy it.
But then you can negotiate to release it into the public domain, this will drop the price significantly as it will allow Hasbro to reuse it in any future works (which will not be in public domain).
