I just got offered an entry level position starting at $35 an hour after a half assed text interview. I looked up the company and it's real. I looked up the guy who interviewed me and he's real. Company on linkedin. Sent me a welcome packet in email with a w4 and some employee stuff. All I have to do is fill it out and I'm hired. I am on the fence though because it asks for social security and I wasn't born yesterday.

Are there really legit jobs like this.... or did I get lucky and should stop wasting the guys time and respond?

Text interview = fake as shit. Do NOT respond ANYTHING back, and if you've already given personal info (Bank account, drivers license scan, etc), you need to take steps to mitigate the damage. If you continue, they'll send you a fake check to purchase supplies for working from home, then ask for reimbursement of whatever you didn't spend or something similar. The check will bounce, and you'll be on the hook for the entire amount of the check + whatever your dumbass ends up sending the scammer as "reimbursement".

That said, every single not-under-the-table job will require your SSN for taxes and making sure you aren't here illegally. This ain't it though chief, block their number and move on.
