The key to making it is nepotism, isn't it?

>> No.53420448

Its one of the main methods, yeah.

Yes - I got my first job through family and everything just worked out after that. I'm very mediocre so probably wouldn't have made it without nepotism

Yup or group preference. I'm trying to get a job at usps and the main hiring office I walked into today to follow up with my application was literally all niggers and a wigger supervisor.

More like 0.2% of the world population. The fact that they control 90% of the money is really impressive.

Yes. Nearly all Jews are rich because of this and all billionaires have Jewish connections or are Jews themselves and if they refuse to bend the knee to Jews they get suicided

Yes. Look at Ireland now. When a people is put down for centuries they turn to nepotism. The eternal hibernians own all the banks.

yes I have a college degree and good grades in STEM and I have zero opportunities. No choice but to get a masters and pray the "good job placement" of my program isn't a meme.

If this doesn't work out i'll probably end up eternally unemployed or being a wagie manager at some amazon warehouse

Yes but you can also work your way into people's nepotistic networks.
I chose to befriend the "correct" people in college
Am I using them? Kinda sorta. I'm still friends with one of them though.

Sorry, this just sounds like you're a lazy fuck and haven't put in enough applications, or your stem degree is like "finance" or some bullshit that doesn't have a specific job title related to it.

Can confirm because I asked my wife to pass my resume to the executive director of her company (who also happens to be a woman, don't know why that's relevant but it felt important to share) and that's the only way I would have ever gotten this job

you are missing the point. I think OP is hinting that there is a secret tribe that owns 98% of everything and it isnt just because they have well connected friends, it goes much much much deeper.

what's your major, if engineering make some useful open source software, treat the project like a job. If you keep getting stone walled by HR apply to small startups with out HR department.

Yes, nepotism is rampant. I didn’t believe it at first until I got into a top 10 us college, it was crazy. A lot of the business and finance majors at the ivy league level already had jobs lined up for them by the time they’re a sophomore/junior. They don’t have to worry about their gpa, their internships during college are already lined up through connections (i.e. parents). Engineers are the same way. I didn’t really see that for prelaw and premed (me) students, though. You can’t really shortcut your way into med school without a killer gpa, mcat score, and extracurriculars. Unless you’re black.

Yes as an engineer I was beyond retarded for putting my head down and focusing on my courses. I should've been out at events, being active in engineering clubs, cozying up to profs, attending industry functions, etc. The people who did that all ended up with good jobs.

>>53422987
Its the only way. I spent a year jobless after grad until my brother miraculously got me a job at some firm where he knew the manager.

>> No.53423117

>>53420426
Its one of the main ways, yes. But people with really hardcore type A personalities can still plow through all the glass ceilings to get to the top as well.

So really, just be rich or be aggressive.

what's especially annoying are women who are so obsessed with the idea that they overcame oppression in their field, but their Dad is almost always some fucking Director of engineering or an MD.

Imagine how many dudes are getting fucked over because they're trying to compete against the Managers' kids for the few remaining non-diversity spots

>> No.53423457

>>53420426
There's another method, but it requires you to be ambitious, likeable and exceptional. I went from homeless and expelled from highschool with no family, to university educated in I.T. and business and working in middle management at a fortune 500. My only networking is via people I've done great work for and whose asses I've saved by going above and beyond.
I wish I'd had family, and I still don't own a home yet. But I've got a kid on the way and I'll make sure they have a home forever and I set them up for a future and when I die they actually inherit something, instead of just thinking giving birth.

>STEM
Word of advice anon, undergrad stems are useless in the job market. It's PhD or bust. I was a bio undergrad, only prospects were pharm tech, lab tech, and medical assistant. None of those jobs require a degree and most people working them don't either. I made more as a security guard for fucks sake. Apply for jobs way outside of stem if you want to make money
>t. took the sales pill and make $100k+ with a bachelor's in biology

I've abused nepotism
now I'm working a wfh job making $130k a yr so it's nice. I like to think I've worked somewhat for it, but I'd have never had the opportunity to get my current job without nepotism, which is in insurance. I have no qualifications and just a highschool diploma.

No clue what I'd do if I had to find a new job. I think if you can't use your family for jobs, try and get jobs through friends. A lot of other people at the company I work at have been employed through their friends. People get bonuses here if they recommend someone and that person stays employed past a few months.
