VR is all we have left. Please explain, rationally, why I should spend my ONE CHANCE at life being a meager, weak, low status, poor wage slave. Why shouldn’t I immerse myself in a digital world where I am strong, powerful, having a loving family, friends, and get to conquer new horizons.

Explain why any bottom of the barrel wagecuck would EVER want to live in reality when their reality is being poor, fat, ugly, owning nothing, “working” most of their waking hours, and having few (if any) social connections. VR is literally the future.

Lots of things are cool ideas, but you need to operationalize them. Unless you simulate the haptic and other sensory inputs directly in the brain, you are left with a shitty version of sight and sound, but no ability to feel movement and no pleasure. You also cannot use the haptic feedback from the body to control the avatar; instead, you have those two shitty control sticks. The simulation featuring believable friends, family, and adventures in a nearly fully realistic world itself also will have to be implemented, and no such game currently exists.
We might conceivably get there and one can vaguely see the system of brain-linked, Matrix-style VR emerging in Neuralink, Meta, and OpenAI, but actually getting there will likely require decades.

There is another issue with your post, and I loosely quote Sam Altman - VR is a thing, but not yet. The tech isn't quite there yet - imo the question isn't whether it's coming, it's whether FB can bring it fast enough not to collapse.
