average lifespan increased from 75 to 80. sounds great, except that 5 years comes at an absurd cost (whether it's you paying for it, or the US government going trillions into debt as they pay for it with medicare gibs.) also those 5 years of life aren't "quality" years of life. they're 5 years of life spent taking 12 different daily medications and seeing dr. shekelberg, dr. shekelowitz, dr. shekelgruber, and dr. patel.

I was a wagie in the 80s - my first job was McDonald's. I remember feeling good when the customers were pleased. I liked doing a good job. Serving people well can feel good... But now, just yesterday, I got fucking yelled at by 3 women working at a takeaway fish n chips shop because I was holding a cigarette. The idea of yelling at a customer for any infraction was/is an insane concept to me. I fucking can't stand wagies anymore, especially bank tellers. The script has been flipped. I hope they're all replaced by automation. It's completely gross now. These losers (yeah, I was one) don't deserve their jobs nowadays. >Was waging in the 1980s worse or better than it is today?

In terms of a low wage, wageslave job like fast food, yes it was absolutely better. I was talking to an older coworker the other day and he was talking about how bad it is for young people now. He drove by a taco bell and saw a sign that said "we're hiring, $11/hr".

He was just sad because he said back in the 1980s he worked at Taco Bell as a manager, and he made $11/hr back then! He basically considered it criminal that they're still offering the same wage today.

$11 per hour in 1988 is equivalent to $27.21 per hour today. That would be considered a legit decent job. Maybe not an amazing job, but definitely a job where you could buy a car and maybe a house before everything went crazy.

Average rent in 1988 was less than $450 a month. You could actually live really well on $11 per hour back then. Meanwhile today even $20 per hour is something of a struggle most places

I'm not sure what the actual position was, but the way he talked about it, sounded more like a shift lead position than manager of the entire store. I'm not sure.

Either way, because so many items were cheaper back then, low wages really weren't as bad. Gas was cheap, rent was cheap, food was cheap. The only expensive stuff was things like TVs, VCRs, Video Game systems. Basically, back then luxuries were expensive, but everyday shit you needed was really affordable.

Today that's been flipped. Rent is expensive. Gas is expensive. Even used cars are expensive. But shit like TVs, computers, videogames, phones, and other unnecessary electronics are all super cheap. Even fucking eggs are expensive now

In my city, Spanish-staffed McDonald's are the best. The best thing you can see walking into a fast-food restaurant is half a dozen 4'11" middle-aged brown ladies. Someone's daughter is the manager, the place runs like a well-oiled machine, the food comes out hot and fresh and FAST. They are born with The Wagie Gene, bred for millennia to know that even hard work is preferable to idle time. Their husbands work construction and live off chain restaurants, so the fast-food is prepared with as much love and pride as if being served to one's own family.

The worst places to go are staffed by blacks in their 20's and 30's. Everyone there is quietly (or, often, not-so-quietly) seething that this is their job and fucks up anything they can to antagonize the customers and incite conflict. There must be several seconds at minimum between every task, where literally nothing is done (not even checking a phone) out of pure resentment for having to do anything at all. Their customers are exactly the same as them except on the other side of the counter/window, and so they engage in a spiteful dance of poor-service, because their customers do not deserve nor expect any better, and no party has any agency to improve their situation. These people are hateful, the food is horrible and provides no nourishment. The food is served cold and stale. I literally don't know how they do it. If you told me they made one batch of burgers and fries at the top of the day, then doled them out even through the lunch and dinner-rushes, I would believe you. Somehow this pre-prepared food still results in a 35-minute drive-thru experience. A masterpiece of spiteful incompetence. I've gotten through a Hispanic McDick's drive-thru, from the back of the line to my first bite of DELICIOUS food, in 6.5 minutes. Heed my words.

this, in the mind of the nigger, the less customers at the store, the better. They know they're getting their hourly wage whether 100 customers come in or 0 customers come in. So they'd rather it be closer to zero. They'll especially fuck with you if you're white or hispanic.

I went to a hispanic McDonald’s today and I was a bit anxious because I just got out of bed and didn’t look my best so I went to the automated check out. Well the burger came out FAST, and the guy had a smile and looked at me like I was his friend. I said thank you and he said “wait!!!, would you like some sauce?” and well, I did get some sauce. Sweet and sour sauce to be specific. Then while I walked to the door I saw two more hispanic workers trying to fix something wrong with it and I kept my head down and slowed down thinking I was a bother. Nope! Person 1 gave me a warm smile and said “come, come!” And I walked through saying thank you and he said “You’re welcome bro!” It was ALMOST as good as last week when I went to hispanic McDonald’s(this one though had old mexican ladies) and they treated me like I was their grandson.

And I’m not even white!!!

>Was waging in the 1980s worse or better than it is today?

my mom as a teenager in the 70s and 80s was working in a small family owned shop in new york city making a decent wage. she was like 15 or 16 when she started working there and was there for a few years. but if i remember correctly i think she made like $4.75 or $5 an hour which is like like $23 an hour in todays money if you adjust her hourly wage for inflation.

that was as a fucking kid working part time in a shop. imagine being 16 years old today completely inexperienced in the work force at a pretty low tier job and making $23 an hour. even shit jobs had ok wages and daily life was much cheaper. large purchases were much cheaper too. so i'd say being a low tier wagie back then would've been much better than today. way more dignified. now days if you make $10 an hour you're basically crack head level poverty. back then $10 an hour would've been enough to support a small family.

I was 3rd in my high school class and went to a top 10 uni, but I had very little guidance or motivation outside of my raw mental horsepower. I knew I wanted to make a lot of money in general.

At 18 years old, I was a burnt out virgin. I remember grinding so hard and putting so much into getting into that top university, but also remember thinking I had little left in the tank.

Was ready to kms at college-even woke up in a hospital once-but survived and scraped by to a 3.0 GPA, cheating in just about every comp sci course (you think I know how to implement a RDBMS in C? lol. I got carried.)

Now, I'm a 30 year old $250k/year remote software engineer in asia. Like many that fit my archetype, I'm just looking to get paid for as little input as possible. Could I have made myself a productive member of society instead of a codenigger? Probably. I felt like I had a shit ton of potential, outside of visual arts.

That said, I'm not disappointed with the result. White males are coincidentally checking out of the US economy left and right; I was just ahead of the curve by doing so over 10 years ago. Let the women and boomers have it; let them maintain it. Sure, I pay tax, but I produce little to nothing of value while doing so.

USA would need to lay out the red carpet for me to begin giving half a shit about wholeheartedly participating again. It owuld need to look like giving me a government issued stipend for being 130 IQ and training in surgery and ending the arbitrary promotion of blacks and women instead of years of debtmaxxed training that is the current state of medicine.

>> No.53289068

Definitely better just by virtue of your money going way farther. I imagine the jobs were also a lot less stressful by virtue of there being way fewer HR commissars watching over your shoulder at all times. Plus there was generally the expectation in the 80s-90s that things were going to get better year-after-year.

>>53272971
That's got more to do with lifestyle and counting on Dr. Feelgood to give you a pill that'll fix you up without you actually having to stop being so sedentary. If you exercise, eat right, and get outside, you can absolutely enjoy those extra 5-10 years.

There are definitely tons of problems with medicine, but plenty of things (surgery, cancer treatment, etc.) have gotten way better. There's also been a lot of knowledge gained about good lifestyle choices you can make to live a longer, healthier life, but it's generally a bit "hidden" or takes a long time to reach the general public because it goes against the regime's preferred message of "trust the establishment-approved experts and remain on a steady diet of pharmaceuticals until you croak."

the whole fucking shebang is your choice.
because you are GOD.

Revelation 9:1-6

1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

The boomers in the 1960s had it even better. You know the whole muscle car phase when car companies just kept trying to crank up horsepower in cars? It was all due to the desires of teenage males which were the main car buying demographic of the time. They made muscle cars because that's what 16 and 17 year olds wanted to buy with their summer job money. Not even meme-ing, that's how good it was. Muscle Cars were primarily designed for the 16-24 age bracket.

Today you don't even have one single automaker designing one single vehicle for that demographic because they simply can't afford to buy new cars. Back in the 60s, that demo was one of the biggest in terms of purchasing power
