Even luna itself knew it was an issue they just thought, when they designed it, that the vast majority of people would be interested in holding luna, and UST was meant to just be a way to make fixed dollar payments. But then stablecoins and defi became popular and the pivoted the marketing to being for a stablecoin even though UST wasn't designed to be safe for that use case.

I stayed clear away from it because they literally minted their own stablecoin and backed it with luna. The logistics didn't fucking make sense. Glad I listened. Of course I got railed in Celsius and bancor but could be worse
