If you're in America, then definitely go for the Britannia's at JM Bullion right now. They're having a sale for the new 2023's. They retain their value quite well for above spot, should you ever need to sell any back. Plus you can get them for the same price as most generic rounds, or sometimes even less like with Asahi's, which if you ever have to sell Asahi's back you'll only get a spot price quoted to you. Anyone considering buying silver that's a newfag to it should definitely just go all-in on britannia's exclusively until they get the hang of things, as opposed to blowing your load on overpriced rounds or other sovereign coins.

I reccomend only buying your own cunts sovereign gold, or gold jewelry. Silver is what ever you think you can buy into at a good price and can either sell for a profit later, can barter with later, or think will be a decent pass to your heirs.

Or just go full Hunt Bros and buy all the silver you can slurp.

Yes, gold and silver are wired deep down in our reptilian brain to represent value since the dawn of times, it's almost in our DNA. All the ppl less than 60yo never were in contact with real money during their entire life, they never experienced anything but paper or numbers on a screen, yet they all still feel this deep connexion with the lunar and solar metals. So it's no mysteries scammers are trying to deceive ppl by imitating the only real deal in every way they can.
It's sad to see all the people getting constantly fooled by this jewish trick while the real deal is within their reach! It's almost as if subconsciously, they don't think they deserve it.

And ngl, each time i make a purchase, i can't help but feel a bit guilty to trade socially-worshiped numbers on a screen for beautiful, eternal precious metals. I feel like i found a cheat code to easy prosperity and peace of mind. Can't wait to get buried down with my Aputannia ngl.

European here, my Cyber Monday strategy will be
>find good deal on Austrian Corona coins, preferably at spot and a deal on gold Britannia. I'll also buy Asahi rounds and American type 1 Eagles.

That should make paying for shipping worth it. I've always wanted Asahi but paying 50 dollars/euro in shipping as well as a 25% extra tax on the Asahi have always been a pain. Now I can hopefully get them all without paying a bunch of extra. Also picking up some type 1 Eagles if I can find them because of how cool they look.

What are your plans?

It isn't just apmex, even if their is especially shitty. The british Mint, Perth,... each time there is an offer, the influx of ppl is overloading the servers. It is becoming increasingly difficult to hide how enormous the demand currently is. Their websites simply haven't been designed for this.
Have you seen the registered+eligible vaults for the comex gold? -40% in 6 months.
LBMA's silver vaults (biggest by far)? Bleeding 600 tonnes each month, never have been this empty since the London Exchange exist.

They simply don't know how to stop the contagion, and we still only are a fringe -but dedicated- minority to have woken up on the imminent collapse of the fiat ponzi scam. Fire is rising, and only the early Chads will have a cut of the pie.

Coinfrens, I got my bimetallic silver Mexican 50 New Pesos in the mail yesterday and have been carrying it around and fondling it constantly, it's a really cool and satisfyingly thicc coin. The .925 center contains exactly 1/2 troy ounce of pure silver and overall the coin is nearly 34 grams and 39mm in diameter which is huge by any standard.

The bimetallic silver 10, 20, and 50 pesos coins minted from 1992-1995 were all made for circulation which is awesome from a numismatic or silver-as-money standpoint. They only made about 5 million total of the 50 pesos which must be why they're a bit pricey, 35 million 20 pesos and nearly 100 million of the 10 pesos which I think have the best design. Mexico continues to impress me with all the awesome coins they've made over the past 200 years. I'd love to see a beanerbro stack full of coins like this, the 50 and 20 pesos containing 1/2 and 1/4 oz fine silver respectively are especially soothing to the autism in spite of their nonlinear silver content per peso.

I wonder why the bimetallism problem was never resolved by creating coins with 90% silver, 4.5% gold and 5% nickel or copper.

Why did they never define a dollar, franc or pesos as 20 grams of silver + 1 gram of gold?

That way fluctuations in gold/silver ratio dont really matter

Very nice, it's an attractive coin anon. A Hispanic friend had me look at his childhood coin collection and he had one of the 10 pesos which he likewise didn't know was silver, then I detected the yard of his grandpa's home which the friend's mom inherited and found and handed over a large copper 1889 Mexican centavo which he and his mom thought was amazing, probably brought from the old country when Gramps immigrated in the 1920s. He doesn't stack but I taught him about silver, he understands it is "God's money" so he got some in 2020 as an emergency reserve which made me happy. Anyway I really like these 1990s bimetallics, modern silver coinage is numismatically noteworthy so I intend to complete the type set, my wife is now considering getting me the 10 and 20 for Christmas which would be cool. I tend to prefer truly old coins but am very impressed with the new pesos, nothing wrong with having a few modern bits in the hoard.

One way to kind of alleviate this is to always track every single package with text alerts. For USPS and UPS you can do that through their website. For FedEx you now have to use their phone app. But this way it'll show you what city and state it is along the way. One time I noticed a PM shipment was going to my old apartment address in another state because of the text alert, and I knew that state was not enroute to my state. So the I confirmed this and preemptively called the apartment management ahead of time to contact the apartment tenant and they forwarded it to me. I never passively wait on anything anymore and track all my PM packages actively.

Cheers, I have another one for you. A true /pmg/ + miniatures crosspost I think.

I got a big chunk of bismuth recently. I melted it down on my stovetop and tried dipping some of my minis in there to create some interesting effects.

Picrel is a Necron I dipped into liquid bismuth for about half a second. Plastic and molten metal don't play well, but since bismuth has such a low melting point, you can usually do a quick dip (<1 second) and not have too much deformation of the plastic.

If I perfect the technique, and I paint a mini I'm really proud of, I'll definitely be entering some of these in the painting competitions at my local hobby store.

Unfortunately, we got greedy, went in for a second dip and dropped the base into the pan. We managed to get it out with tongs, but after just 2-3 seconds in the pan, the plastic was meted beyond use :(

Hmmm guess they sort of just end up in collections without many people realizing they're worth far more than their identical clad counterparts. If he didn't notice, and lots of other people don't, then it really makes me wonder if those original silver ones still circulate in small numbers.

Can be used to make an inventory of what you have in case of mass confiscation, or can be reported stolen and they could use knowledge of your serial as proof it is actually thier gold and you stole it from them. Same reasons your not supposed to share firearm serials online. Neither of which matter with modern tech since it would be laughably easy to prove not only what you own but that you are the legitimate owner. Only exception being person to person cash transactions in which case you might be able to keep your gold/gun purchases off the radar, but I mean you still gotta communicate prices and meet ups, etc so most person to person sales are gonna have some kind of paper trail to.

>You are doing better than almost everyone on the planet.
You can even make an educated guess on how much better than how many, too. Pic related.

>For entertainment purposes only!
By the numbers I've chosen to accept, it seems that you'd need:
>287.17 ozt of silver and
>76.611 ozt of gold
to be in the top 1% of the global population owning each. This assumes everyone who owns PMs (including you) has the same amount. This of course is not realistic - most have no hope of owning anything (so your competition is more concentrated), and even among those who own you have no idea how your stack compares (don't forget to include jewelry, tableware, art...). Also you would need more to maintain your rank if more PM is considered available to the public. Mostly though, this argues that the classic "you need 60 ozt to be in the top 1% of silver stackers" should be reassessed.

Those numbers are kind of depressing - I was surprized by the amount of gold. Don't like those numbers? The screen capture has instructions on how to re-create the sheet, and cites my data sources. Knock yourself out and plug in your own numbers. There are basically three spots (cells with red borders) to do it: population (or PM owners if you prefer to enter that), available silver, and available gold.

The first two rows are ozt values you enter manually - your stack (random example entered here), and by trial and error the amounts I ended up with to be in the top 1% for Row 3. In my real sheet I link the Row 2 cells to my inventory sheet so it's always up to date.

Rows 2 and 3 aside, I think the rest of the sheet/table simply gives an idea at a glance of how other stack amounts rank. I initially made this to compare with and offer more versatility than a screen cap another Anon offered. The increment in this example multiplies (not adds) the preceding row's ozt by 1.5 (the value in cell K2), and of course you can change either the operation and/or the factor.

yes the gold number is quite high. i can only assume it is because central banks own the vast majority of gold and they leave silver alone? this points towards one of the arguments for crypto as, all the gold is already owned and it is owned by those who we dont want to have power ie, central planning governments and central bankers

The Indian people are estimated to own about 20,000 TONS of gold. And they are not the only ones. So not really sure you can say that the banks own the vast majority. But it doesn't matter if they do because when gold is remonetized, it must be spent to be of use. The banks will have to put their gold into circulation in order to benefit from it. Once it is in circulation, it is available to everyone who can trade something productive for it. The reason banks are so rich and powerful now is because they duped the world into using money that they CREATE. They can't create PMs so that is what we want.

I get what you're getting at, but I hate this logic. This is the same sort of strawman that rabid anti-PM people use all the time.

I have both.

>"You'll make a juicy target for raiders in the post apocalypse!!"
I have guns and plenty of ammo.

>"Have fun eating your shiny rocks when starvation sets in!!"
I have plenty of dry goods and water filtration systems. I live in verdant, wet part of the country.

This idea that if you're into gold and silver it's impossible that you're also diversified is just fallacious. Generally speaking PM people are more redpilled (or blackpilled depending on how you look at it) on the current state of the world and are likely more prepared than the average norman.

I get what you're saying about >>52629701 having only a couple ounces of silver or even gold is probably as good as having nothing, and hoping for a breakdown of civilization is pretty naive, but still. PMs aren't a guarantee. Nothing is. But it sure as shit will be worth more than fiat if we go back to the stone age.

Morning gentlemen,

I have access, to loads of gold jewelry, from 18k to 24k, also coins but not as much. Around 1200€ for 32g of random pieces.

Thing is, can i smelt everything (18k,22k,24k) and turn it into a gold bar? Do i need to remove some impurities i guess.

Any videos or advice, im thinking of NileRed on YT but he did this with RAM sticks.

sreetips does this on yt if youve never heard of him. basically you need to dissolve the gold in aqua regia, but the lloys need to be dilited with additional copper to be 6k or less or else it wont dissolve completely. then the coppee or other base metals are precipitated out. its very dangerous process, so you may be better off taking it to a refinery

I would not suggest that you do that. Not only do those gold jewelry items and coins have more intrinsic value than a bar they have much better liquidity meaning that it's hit or miss if a gold-selling business is actually going to accept your gold bar, but they will accept coins and jewelry even at a time when the cost of gold is high.

Noob question, if you don't mind:
With all the tech put into giving bills security features and machines to verify, could fiat really suddenly become 100% useless rather than simply less valuable?

>> No.52634132

>>52634102
I'm not sure if I understand the question. The problem with fiat is the exponential growth in spending/money creation needed to sustain the economy. The amount of cash relative to actual goods and services is skewed now more than ever. The only saving grace is that pent up demand is tucked away in financial assets.

If what you mean is could the government basically "turn off" the value of paper bills electronically, I think the answer is yes to some extent. They could require all commercial institutions to reject bills with the outdated security features. But they could do most of that with just serial numbers. The only thing the tech would allow is rejection by atms and other machines.
