There aren't any retail wagies here. Imagine working 8 hour shifts for 40 hours a week for less pay than it takes to survive. Those kind of people have no time to write or think and usually get home and smoke weed or do drugs or get drunk. Literally a worse existence than peasants or actually slaves.

I worked at petsmart a decade ago and a bunch of people were waiting outside the store like 3 hours before open. I remember a bunch of old fat women literally filling their entire carts to the brim with cat food tins.

When I was a teen back in the 90s I worked at a record store. This was right around the time Best Buy started selling music at like 50% less than everyone else, so I would just tell the customers to go across the street and get the same album for half the price.

worked at bestbuy during black friday...I had been an employee for about 4 months before it hit...management hired a fuckton of temps for the prep and the actual day. Being a full time employee wasnt that bad, as I was basically just put on a register as the temps couldnt be trusted with it yet. The temps had the worse of the gruntwork, having to walk up and down the line of rabid customers basically making sure they bought they goycessories and running to get them if the goys needed something else. It was pretty shitty to have to stand in front of a register for so long, however any times a customer got out of line due to misunderstanding a sell all I had to do is basically pass them off to a manager. What I am getting at here, is if you are going to be working black friday, try to not be one of the grunts hired in the weeks before.

My only experience as a retail wagie was a six-month stint at a RadioShack back in 2012
I worked over black Friday, honestly not an insane amount of people. Had a few people line up right at opening but otherwise it was just a rather busy day. The worst part was working for twelve fucking hours pretty much straight, my half hour for lunch became like 10 minutes.
Hurricane season was worse because my retard manager would force us to come in during the storms and 100 niggers would rush us to get batteries and emergency radios (long sold out of course)

Hi anons. Let's say you were 22, about to be 23, and you were lost in life. I know it's gonna sound entitled but I have about $170k to my name. Let's say I got it from a trust fund. I currently pay $1600 for rent a month. And I am unemployed. Saying that I'm lost would be an understatement. I wish I had just done comp-sci from the get-go, but I'm a brainlet. I guess it isn't all bad, but I wish I wasn't paying so much for rent. I also don't have a car. I guess the military is always a last-resort option, but I probably shouldn't consider that with my savings. I guess that technical writing BS would always be an option. I've put in over a hundred applications for various jobs and haven't gotten a single one. I'm American if that helps. IDK. I'm lost. Any advice would be appreciated.

Did Best Buy while I was going through university. Did a total of 7 black fridays (graduated late because I fukked around too much).

Always did the opening shift and the morning blitz is a crazy experience. Seeing the flood of customers is something I'll never forget.

Once stores opened on Thanksgiving day is fragmented all the shoppers. After that point there was no more morning blitz. It kinda killed the black friday experience.

One year our Best Buy did a sneaky move. Back then the line was so long you had to wait at least an hour to check out even if you were buying one DVD. The 'deal' was if you signed up for AOL for one full year you could cut to the front of the line. I got like 12 people to do it. Its just too bad Best Buy isn't comission.

I worked at Walmart some years ago (2013 or 2014) and it wasn't that bad. People just stood in line and we had to herd them into it so they could get a coupon and redeem it later. Hardest part is my line was by the emergency exit. I basically just talked to a couple cute milfs trying to get furby vouchers the entire time. The last few hours of my shift I took an extra long lunch and break, took laps around the store sometimes grabbing cardboard (people left me alone since I looked busy) and then I hid in the bathroom for a while. Can't say it was an awful experience since I was like 19 at the time. I had a tougher time at whole foods but I was making like 16/hr
