No, I actually understand that the current market is highly irrational and that price action is thus a poor indicator of actual quality and future prospects.

Furthermore, I also understand that history has proven that sanity does eventually return to irrational markets and when that happens fundamentals trump hype.

Finally, I very clearly understand that as the darling of the darknet and the cornerstone of a growing digital transnational organized crime sector Monero stands to absorb potentially hundreds of billions of dirty dollars and will almost certainly justify its reputation as the comfiest hold in crypto.

TL;DR: buying & holding Monero is a no-brainer if you can read the writing on the wall i.e. developing trends.

Frankly I’m not convinced by Monero shills. As an investment goes all the people showing price action are fundamentally correct. Tech wise there’s tons of assets better as currencies, there are more versatile privacy options being developed (with lower market caps), and Monero’s use as currency means it will never have a lack of sell pressure. Criminals don’t use Monero because they value it as money, and they immediately sell it for USD or BTC after getting it. You can’t have a serious price pump long term with that kind of market, and with zero institutional interest to add more liquidity. Sure it’s great if you’re a criminal, but otherwise there are better places to put your money (BTC, low MC alts, RAIL, etc.) even if you’re a privacy schizo. If you just want to buy something without the fed knowing then buying Monero and holding it for 10 minutes makes sense yeah, but as an investment for the future of finance, and entering it early? Monero is garbage.

>Criminals don’t use Monero because they value it as money, and they immediately sell it for USD or BTC after getting it

Horseshit. Best practices as espoused by the DNM Bible (supreme darknet OPSEC authority) mandate avoiding BTC as much as possible to minimize exposure to chain analysis.

Criminals use and long-term hold Monero precisely because it protects them and their holdings better than a transparent surveillance chain ever could.

>You can’t have a serious price pump long term with that kind of market, and with zero institutional interest to add more liquidity.

Transnational organized crime is an established institution, an insanely wealthy one that is absolutely flush with cash it seeks to move it around as secretly as possible.

>Yes, Monero works and is actually useful but if you really want to make it buy the coin that got dumped by the ransomware and darknet sectors for burning too many users, everybody knows that the more irrelevant a coin is in real-world markets the more it will ultimately gain in value.

Except the only thing making Bitcoin and Ethereum worth thousands is institutional investment from billionaires. Monero will never be worth 1000 let alone multiple thousands. Bitcoin didn’t get huge from junkies it got huge after it stopped being used by them. Monero doesn’t have nearly the same mainstream appeal as Bitcoin and never will.
