Where did it all go wrong for you? Personally, it was when I entered this godforsaken general summer of 2021. I don't know where I got the idea from, but I just had a feeling there was more to the gamestop stock story than what met the eye. I didn't buy into the squeeze and seethed day after day seeing the stock multiply over and over in its initial run up. I saw the halts and removal of the buy button. I saw and rejoiced in the subsequent rekage that followed. People lost everything and that made me happy. I was in Austin for an internship that summer. It was going great, I was really providing great value for my company. Took some shrooms one weekend and wrote investment thesis on what the economy of 2030 would look like and how I could position myself to retire comfortably by then via sound investments. I had covered the entire kitchen table with writings and graphs and what not but it just felt like something was missing so I scrooled through biz and saw a pretty cool gif. Above this gif were 3 letters: GME. Gme? I thought to myself. What kind of retard still holds that shit. I read the op and realized there is no saving these coping idiots and laid down on the floor to enjoy some CEVs. There was a lingering voice that said: what if. As the high intensified I became more and more impressionable and nihilistic. I pulled out my phone and closed every position in my portfolio. I then bought 13k worth of gamestoop thinking to myself, all of these people can't be wrong can they? Then I lost about half of my portfolio and have seen goalposts move unlike anything before. Schizos come and go spouting utter nonsense. Mystical tweets from a disinterested and disillusioned ceo among many other red flags. I've come to terms I won't ever be getting my money back, I just hope to recover my sanity eventually.
