Styrofoam is probably your most cost-effective option, plus it’s lightweight. Just buy as many styrofoam containers as you can, fill em with gas, and keep ‘em stacked in the basement where you won’t lose too much to evaporation

Gas and diesel, especially with ethanol and bio stuff in it atually deteriorates within few years and in bad cases a single year. Diesel with sulphur gets some water condensation, and biofilm in it. Gas same deal but ethanol sucks water vapor from the air like a sponge. GTL diesel with some additives in it is your only medium-term storage option and just stay awsy from ethanol gas, if possible, thanks to the government.
