They now not only ban anyone posting a Pepe or Apu or anyone engaging in any semblance of 4chan culture at all for that matter (they even occasionally ban people for writing "kek"), but NOW they even ban people criticizing the reddity catposting (which recently has infected /biz/ as well over the last few months). Real-life photos of cats are now 100% allowed on /a/ -- when even by their own logic they shouldn't be, as everything there "should" be anime/manga related.

I hate /a/ but it's fascinating to browse as it's an inversion of 4chan (most of the boards anyway) in so many ways. /a/ is nowadays full of trannies and redditors, who hate everything that's inherent to 4chan, and they engage in reddit-behavior (the catposting for example), while simultaneously accusing us of being trannies and/or from reddit if we post a wojak or frogs etc, or mumus or bobos for that matter.
