I made some money from Ampl in defi summer 2020. Thankfully I got the fuck out once I realized it was flawed cause it didn’t actually hold value so the Muh keeping up with inflation was a dumb meme.
But everything changed. They are about to release Spot. Unlike all the shit algo stables it uses tranching separating risk from Ampl. So the lowest risk tranche becomes a perpetual note and Spot. This is a game changer. And the only way to mint it is with Ampl. The positive feedback loop on this is gonna be massive. But more important;y Spot will get listed very quickly as wampl and Forth got listed. Spot will be an incredible asset. Cause IF it drops below the CPI levels then simply buy it cause you know it’s literally programmed to rise back again. This will create massive vol as Spot gets minted. There you go an asset that beats inflation and is a better SOV than BTC which is more like Gold. This could be bigger than crypto. The literal world needs an asset that is durable and holds value in the face of the inflation that is coming. Seriously it’s gonna be LUNA but not busted.

Spot is a perpetual note minted from tranching Ampl. Ampl is not a stable, it expands and contracts and created the first rebasing concept which LUNA and OHH copied…but copied badly and fucked them up with collateral. So if you own e.g 1% of Ampl now then you own 1% of Ampl even if the marketcap is 1 trillion. Price volatility is converted to supply volatility.

Yep. As the Ampl is sliced you can sell the Spot and then buy more of the riskier tranche for boosted gains. Early in the cycle it’s gonna be a no brainer imo.

This only works if a ton of volume is constantly flowing into the system though. You can only mint spot with AMPL and its lowest risk is its perpetual note(spot). So if volume is not their and things get illiquid its backed by (itself). It doesn't actually hold value just like you discovered with AMPL but sure it can last till the volume runs out. These things only last with enough liquid and a lot of volume

Arbers if Spot demand is there. You can always bond and then hold the separate tranches as and when you wish to sell either. Holding both tranches will end up just like holding pure Ampl.

Oh I completely missed out something fundamental. Spot will therefore be 100% decentralized and not dependent on any collateral. Projects like DAI, Frax and other so called stables are dependent on USD to be backed up. Firstly these algos can collapse but also they HAVE to start looking for alternative collateral or they come under strict regulation that is happening soon.


So imagine this. Spot as it’s semi stable is the perfect asset for other stables to be backed up by. Ampl has a good relationship with AAVE so I would not be surprised if they use it also for their stable coin.

I know you are fighting fud but I wanna say IF Spot successfully holds value as a perfect SOV against inflation this is not a 100x. This changes money…I’ve really meditated on this one and I really can’t see how it won’t be world changing. Literally banks, retail and even governments will want to own an inflation free asset. Bitcoin is a SOV over a long time period but it will never stop being volatile. It can’t serve as normie savings and daily spending money..it just can’t.
