Mana still on track. Still have a stash there. We are discussing BTC here, however. I have dumped all of my other Alts for Mana tonight. Had a really nice run in BTB from $240 to $325, dumped, bought back at $306. ran it up tonight, and dumped again at $330. Just put all those gains back in BTC for the night.

>> No.5205468

If you hold until that phase, then you have to chase the dump down, and suffer huge losses in the process. If you dump (like now) just minutes before the top, you sell in to buys. You may miss out on a couple of percent gains, but the reality is, you are not losing 10 % chasing it down after someone else dumps. Crypto 101.

BTC is a shitcoin and its gains are slower compared to cheaper coins where you can buy larger amounts for the same price. This was true for 2017 and its going to be even more true for 2018.

BTC is a loss coin, you are bleeding out money. This was true for 2017 and its going to be true for 2018.

Stop lying to people anons. BTC is not going to out pace alts. It never has before. No reason for it to begin now. BTC is a shitcoin with no future potential.

Normie news, facebook ads, financial magazines, etc have literally begun to shill alts like Ripple and LTC.

Most of them are retards, and their money will continue to hold up BTC. But as new money flows into BTC, some of the ones who bought in a few weeks before decides to figure out how they can buy Ripple for that extra gain.

In the process they're brandished with an entirely green front page showing +30% all over the place. So where do they put their money? Normies FOMO, that's what they do.

The main ones to pay attention to is LTC and ETH. The completely fucked BTC so hard in the ass that BTC should not even be considered a valid option anymore.

Look on coin market cap 2017-2018
LTC was 3-4 USD each for example.

I don't know why people are still on BTC like its a good coin. I can understand only from the "safety perspective" BTC is a safer coin.

But honestly that safety is gone now. A lot of alts feel safer to me.

> I have dumped all of my other Alts for Mana tonight. Had a really nice run in BTB from $240 to $325, dumped, bought back at $306. ran it up tonight, and dumped again at $330. Just put all those gains back in BTC for the night.

oldfagbiztard trades in alts all the time - including LTC, BTG, MANA, BTB, BCH (riding the waves), and others.

It's not like he's saying: "never buy alts or you'll always lose coz btc is king!".

BTC is king because it won't crash - which is the OPPOSITE of what BCH shills say.

Look at this Bitcoin dominance graph. Do you see something? That's right - it's a fucking HEAD AND SHOULDERS.

Bitcoin dominance is going down down down. The whale's aren't stupid - they know if they keep the price of BTC stable and pump alts they can get more money into the system. It takes billions of dollars to move BTC up one percent - that same amount moves a shitty alt to the moon.

Investing in BTC when its dominance started to fall in 2017 is stupid - the king is dying. Pick some other shit to hold.

- conspiracy theories and "ati-btc" are things normies don't care about

- it's in the top 8 with BTC, ETH, LTC, XRP, ADA, IOTA, DASH and brings nothing unique to the table

That's the problem with BCH shills. No thinking behind their arguments.

Sat value matters when TRADING an alt coin (e.g. BCH) against BTC - because it's how you know you're outperforming BTC.

Outperforming USD isn't a feat, except for coins like confido. If outperforming USD is a feat for BCH ... well... that says it all.

Of course, BCH shills will switch to talking about transaction fees or tech - which has NOTHING to do with the subject of TRADING.

Which is what this thread is ALL ABOUT.

Which is something that made more sense when BTC wasnt such a dangerous coin.

Also I'm not BCH shill. I am in this for max gains. While you guys were waiting for btc to start moving up and this thread began I made a couple thousand already. LTC going up right now is far more profitable than hoping that BTC will go up.

BTC bubble wont pop. Its likely never going to happen. BTC CAN stagnate though. It will still go up a bit now and then but its big days are probably over.

If you manipulate the market to hold BTC where it is and prevent growth then alts just moon left and right. Accumulate tons of alt coins and hold BTC where it is. Now you not only prevent a bubble pop but you multiply your gains by insane amounts.

BTC is going to stagnate. And if it doesn't then the people who manipulate the market are idiots who don't know how to max out profits.

The other side of this though, is that a lot of the BTC shills need to try and convince you as long as possible to continue staying with BTC and propping it up for as long as possible. The gains these people make is unmeaserable.

If you are still HODL BTC you are being cucked.

The audacity of you fucking retards. You come here sharing tips and analysis of crypto, when it's just a roll of the fucking dice. You're like a sad old booze hound that thinks he's got a great method for winning the coin slots. You all think you're Jordan Belfort. If you weren't £1000 deep in crypto by 2014 you're a fucking victim. If you haven't already lost most of your money, you're going to at one point. Even the photos you post of your "14k portfolio", you're not kidding anyone. Spend 10k, up 4k one day, down 4k the next. This should not be a business and finance thread it should be a help thread for problem gamblers. You're fucking pathetic. You're lazy. You have nothing going in in life. That's why you choose crypto currency. You're all too lazy to invest in real business ventures. Take me for example, a real entrepreneur. I've been buying and selling cars since I was 17. It's paid my bills for 6 years. Just this morning I bought a "spares or repairs" listing for £150. Got it running after a quick reference of the hanes manual and an hour on YouTube. Same car, similar age and millage are selling for £4500 on autotrader. Night just sell it for £4000, for a quick sale. Even if I buy a car that is truly fucked, it still has scrap value, real physical value. What do you have? Nothing. Ive also put the deposit on a car that cost 3300 but will sell for 5000 easily. And all that took was 15 mins looking for a good deal. Last year I used only £8000 to buy my uncle a van and tolls for his landscaping business, for which I'm getting £1200 per month cash for zero effort. No sleepless nights. No spending hours each day following trends (100% pointless task) and now I'm looking to buy a small piece of low grade land for forestry operations. You idiots really have no idea about business or finance. I hope bitcoin crashes to 1k most of you fucking hang yourself. Worthless posers.

True. You're one of the smarter anons here.

It's a large chunk of what I can lose.

My time is still worth more than day-trading - which isn't my thing at all.

I did the math - I'll likely be "out" of BTC for a few weeks (unless it's undervalued and mooning for a day). No emotions either way. But not trading sleep for max gains either.

> Smart money keeps the bulk of holdings in the big 4

That's true for a large portfolio. The bigger, the more sense BTC makes.

However, there's a flip-side:

1. Don't invest more than you can lose
2. If someone KNOWS something will go up, you SHOULD go all-in. Unless it's BS and you DON'T really know. (Then play safe with the big 4).

E.g. if someone believes ARK will moon, they should go at least 90% in it within 3 days of that moon. (Or shut the fuck up about their predictions). And then get out at the peak.

>> No.5210826

Fuck dude I literally just did this.

I rode LTC up on the last surge (couldn’t sell at top since account was locked) and just sold yesterday.

Today everything fucking moons and I FOMO’d back in bc I just don’t see BTC making any big % gains anytime soon. Sure if they break 20k it’ll go up to 22k possibly in sheer momentum but as a % that is not that much. Was I wrong? Should I hold btc at wait for a dip that make never come ?

BTC is still viewed as being safer than altcoins. Normies will be satisfied with even 20% annual gains from BTC because that still shits on index funds.
You can see something similar with ETH/LTC, as lots of people here have been adding them to their portfolios recently. They gained about 10-20% today, which is far less than what TRX did (like 50%). However, ETH/LTC are far less risky because they actually have a live product.

>Muh gamble
If you invested in Bitcoin at ANY point in time since 2009 until today, you would have made money. How can you say that everyone loses money and it's just for gamblers when the numbers are absolute? The coin has been on rapid growth for years now, and 2017 was its golden rush. That's undeniable, and you are just salty because you missed.

>> No.5212525

Technically, they're correct anon.

If someone wins the lottery, it's still gambling, no matter how many millions they've made.

Most people are ignorant about building a business. Because it's not taught in school or college.

Crypto has nothing to do with business. All because you're making money doesn't make you a business genius.

Most quants don't even know much about business. They can be spectacular investors, but that doesn't mean they know shit about business.

It technically is gambling, anon. Doesn't mean you can't make a lot of money. It doesn't mean you can't hedge with crypto or non-crypto (like gold, silver).

It just means betting on something you can't predict or control.

(In business, you can at least have quite a bit of control).

The ONLY issue I have is: pretending that gambling is a science is delusion. Even TA isn't a science.

that would apply if we'd be trading in a double-blindtest kind of setting. Guess what. That's not the case, and you can invest into technology you actually believe in (as opposed to chasing one moon after the other based on some shitty twatter). This is clearly not gambling, and unless you're a retard, it raises your chances way above the 50% of rolling a dice. Gambling my ass.

In crypto, technology doesn't matter as much as news.

Otherwise, e.g. BTC and BTC would have roughtly the same price. Same as IOTA and BTB, byteball and raiblocks.

Technology doesn't guarantee revenue and adoption.

>If someone wins the lottery, it's still gambling, no matter how many millions they've made.
While the lottery is purely a matter of lucky, even a retard can reach the conclusion that Bitcoin might be a good investment if they had just watched the patterns. Again, it has been growing since 2009, it's not something that suddenly appeared and mooned to 19k out of nowhere, plus there's social trends and human factors backing it up. /biz/ has been shilling this shit for years now and if you would have made a retarded amount of money by just leaving your money on it, without ever selling or messing with it, like most people would advise you do it in the past.

>Most people are ignorant about building a business.
That's irrelevant here.

>Most people are ignorant about building a business.
I can agree with that if you agree that the same is true for the stock market.

> All because you're making money doesn't make you a business genius.
No one has ever said otherwise. You are the one saying this shit.

>It technically is gambling, anon.
It's probably the safest gambling one can ever practice, wouldn't you agree? I wish casinos would give me such easy returns.

I'm going against your post because you imply that investing in crypto is a 50/50 situation where people can either lose or gain and it's just for gambling addicts, which is a fallacy because with crypto we can watch patterns and its patterns tell us that every shitcoin under the sun is more valuable now than it was at the beginning of the year.

>pretending that gambling is a science is delusion
It actually is though. There's logic, patterns and ways to turn the game into your favor even in casinos.

Please. Goals, environment, and (human) networks are completely different. IOTA doesn't even want to run on this stinky internet with it's shitty protocols; they want to run on a new IoT protocol. They all come from vastly different backgrounds, and are moving in quite different directions. Just because DAG doesn't mean shit. Do you always fall so easily for these fancy words? A dag is a very simply structure, almost as simple as the blockchain. It's a stupid tree!! Wew. What a game changer. No, there's a bit more to this all... and no, it's not "news". At least not in the not so long run.

Need to go, so I'll wrap up, sorry.

The whole argument is about definitions between "business", "investing" and "gambling".

Crypto can be in any such category. Most people in 4chan fall into the "gambling" bucket.

I don't condemn either. I do condemn delusion when people think they're investors when they're gambling.

When I mentioned IOTA/XRB/etc. I meant that as a counter-argument to "muh tech means gains" thinking. Factors beyond tech are too important (my point).

Crypto can be a business and/or investment.

Doesn't mean saying "omg ARK MOONING!" turns anyone into an investor.

I'm not even saying there are clear lines. But calling a day-trader a "business person" doesn't make sense. Or a gambler (which any normie can be) posing as a day-trader (which is hard work and takes skill and research).

What's the difference between a sound investment and a lucky gamble? Nothing easy to prove, so I'm not judging.

E.g. you never may know if the mooning was because of actual rumor/news you knew about or whales just randomly dumping money into an undervalued shitcoin with a big enough market cap. Or both.

That's the "gambling" part that's hard to eliminate.

Predicting a moon vs predicting a 10x over 3 months is a big difference.

For the record: I'm a gambler. Maybe a careful one that does more research than the average anon, but I'm still a gambler.

I'd like to think of myself as a great investor, but I'm just a gambler. A "safe gamble" is still a gamble. But then again, every job is a gamble too.
