forget about all that nerd shit. When SOXL hits $5 there will be a huge technical rally. When that happens SOXL will probably double or triple in price briefly. That call will at least quadruple in price since SOXL and S M H move in lockstep. Basically the call is an even more leveraged play on SOXL. If SOXL is 3x leveraged, that call is 5-6x leveraged. You don't hold it to expiration. You hold it through the bounce then you sell it. The same as you would do with SOXL.
You might say to yourself, why not just hold SOXL? The reason is volatility decay. Of course options have theta decay or "time" decay. Having done the math though, the theta decay isn't anywhere near the amount of volatility decay SOXL is suffering in this environment despite being more highly leveraged. If you're contemplating buying SOXL to play the bounce, you will always do better in this market environment buying S M H out of the money call options. The expiration date is just to give you time for your trade to work out so don't think on it too much
