Using Maples leafs as an example when comparing 3 shops, 2 American and 1 European. I think the price can be mostly explained by what the stores themselves want to charge for the coins. Apmex is one of the most popular places to buy coins in the US but their coins are more expensive than both the American silvergoldbull and the European europabullion, they probably just felt that they could charge more and get still manage to sell just because of they're well known.

You should probably keep it sealed, that way the silver doesn't tarnish. Where did you buy it? If it's from a reputable dealer then you shouldn't have to worry. Also it's actually a coin, not a generic bar that would be less trouble to fake. But you can always take it to a LCS that have a machine for analyzing metal composition.

If most of my stocks are up, it's up and vice versa. It's a big stock and owned by some mutual funds. But yesterday was very different. Check out yesterday's share graph. All my other stocks were down heavy but it had a big upswing yesterday especially in the closing five minutes of trade. This tells me one thing. Lots of silver right now being bought at these low prices. When I buy silver they buy the type of silver that they sells. Put this together with all the silver leaving the Comex right now and I'm just sitting back and loving this show.

Copper is amazing. The best way to enjoy stacking for cheap is to search through boxes of pennies. I have probably 100 pounds of copper pennies and a quick perusal of historical pricing shows just how much purchasing power can be pent up in useful metals.

Sounds like a worthy pile already fren, have you been watching out for local estate sale listings? It wouldn't take many scores of cheapie boxes of scrap to blast past 100oz and also drop your DCA way down. There is a nearby local estate sale I'm hitting next weekend, probably won't be terribly noteworthy but it shows some promise and getting there at opening is the best way to find out. On top of fattening the stack, the more scrap you handle the better you'll be at spotting more in the future which is valuable in its own right so good luck and be sure to post any joyous cheapie scores you luck upon!

You can bring a scale if you're not good at judging weight by look and feel in hand, beware of "weighted sterling" items like candle holders though which are thin sheet silver over a core of cement or resin and only yield 10-20% of their total weight in silver, they're usually stamped "weighted" or "loaded" so pay attention to bottom markings. Still great scrap if priced cheap. I'd say sterling under 40 cents a gram is a fair buy, the cheaper the better of course. Some sterling is highly collectible and valuable (Georg Jensen, Tiffany etc.) so even pieces priced at spot can be superb deals, research the makers of what you come across.
