here's me totally data picking, i no longer trade tsla because it blew up my first account but this is a nice illustration of using the golden cross 50/200 sma study to plan exits/entries. time frame is 30 minutes. bottom left we have a golden cross, 50sma is green that's gonna be the average short term trend, 200 is red and represent the average longterm. bottom left we get the golden cross 50 goes over the 200 and becomes support. what follows is typical of a golden cross in that it held as support and generated upward momentum. there would have been no reason to exit a call that week because it was respecting the trend so well. now the big scary red candle was cpi and that's why it's important to monitor the fed. fuck the fed btw. anyway look where final support is that day right at the red line 200sma, had you held a long call through that the next day recovery would be shakey but enough to stay in. but looking today those sma's are getting very close to crossing again, and that'd be a deathcross. typically creating downward momentum and trapping the price downwards.

Yes there actually are a ton of jobs on wall st for bonafide maths majors even from meh schools. BUT you need to know
1) Python and relevant finance libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SKLearn, TensorFlow, SciPy)
2) Learn about analyzing time series on Python (Matplotlib and pandas, use data sets from ranjeets online)
3) SQL (SQL is easy honestly lol its glorified Excel for big data)
3) Become very good at machine learning. This is basically an addition to point "1".
Machine learning involves Python libs like TensorFlow or SKLearn, etc.

Read books about algorithms and literally practice
an algo every day on some financial time series.

Once you know how to write complex algorithms using neural networks (on TensorFlow) or using basic linear SVM shit (SKLearn) over time series (Matplotlib and pandas) then you'll be set.

Learning SQL just makes your resume look really nice since it tells employers that if you get a gargantuan fuck load of data you know how to organize it into neat bits that can allow you to analyze and visualize it
