I really have no moves to make right now. I have $2k in cash waiting for Bitcoin to fall under $18k. I really don't want any stocks/funds just yet. Most of my cash is already deployed from March 2020, just gonna let that ride.

I'm getting 2.9% (annualized) on 4-week Treasuries. Might as well do that over .2% on the cash in my bank.

I want to see tech get hit a little bit more, then I might put some cash in a tech fund, or an S&P fund.

I was looking at those, but isn't the minimum hold 10 years (if you don't want a penalty)?

>> No.51370613

>>51370585
The penalty is 3 months interest, so I figure I’ll sell them when inflation drops to negligible levels, meaning the penalty will be negligible. Right now the return is nearly 10% which is unheard of and I have a feeling inflation will persist if not get worse in the near term

>> No.51370652

why buy those when you can just buy S&P 500 or VTI or VOO and get an actual profit for your money?

That and my Fidelity account.

I tried to figure out how to buy them through Fidelity originally. I watched 3 separate videos and still couldn't figure it out. So, I went and made a TreasuryDirect account. Of course, a week later this chick https://youtu.be/rFuiC-UNeMc released a video on hoe to buy Treasuries and I figured out what I was doing wrong on my Fidelity account. I kept going to the "Treasury" section and not the "New Issues" section.

I'm still glad I made the TD account though. It has way more options.

Fidelity charges $1.00 mark ups on corporate and some municipal bonds. Treasuries are free as far as I'm aware. I'll find out soon, the bills I bought are issued this coming Friday and they'll mature 12/15/2022. I'll post a thread then if they do charge me.

I know for a fact TreasuryDirect doesn't charge you anything. Those bills I bought are also issued this coming Friday, but mature 28 days afterwards.

I guess it would depend on whether the CPI rate (annualized) is higher, or lower from 6 months ago.

It's all good man, we all start as newbies. You're not retarded, this shit can get complicated.

No, Robinhood won't have anything like this. Robinhood only has individual stocks.

There's no Ticker Symbol like stocks. Watch those 2 links I sent you when you have time, hopefully it helps!
