If you trade stocks you at least know some accountancy, overall macroeconomics and at least some corporate governance. By trading crypto you just try to get in early on the ponzi, shill your bags and dump on late comers, but sometimes it's you the one getting dumped on.

Brokers naked short sell and lie about the amount of shares they hold. The penalties for naked shorting in other countries are much worse than the US.

Stock value is only loosely correlated to profits. Buying stocks requires trust that the company won’t use the stock market as a piggy bank and dilute your holdings to $0.
