I am still in Banor with my BTC ETH and LINK stacks. Around $100k. Should I finally take the haircut or is there any hope? I can't fathom throwing away $50k but I start to realize they are already lost.

I don't need it now, but I am afraid it will get worse and worse until I am left with 10% of my stack. At this point I think the foundation will never buy back a friction of BNT. Fuck Galia

I was under that impression too, but the foundation refuses to put out a statement, let alone use their BANCOR ICO funds to support the BANCOR protocol. Id love to know the real story about whats going on there.
I was staked in bnt from the 2.1 launch, at peak i was like wallet 75 in bnt but sold some along the way and in the end pulled 100k bnt out of v3 and converted back to eth at the bottom.
Ultimately i think bnt will just keep grinding, in crypto anything can happen i guess and it could breakout and moon to 10 or 20 or something, but ether is a better bet and so far so good ..

Yes, considering I have been in crypto for a long time this isn't impressive. I am not even really much up BTC/ETH wise. It just hard to let go half of my eth link and btc that I considered to be my safe stack. I thought Bancor is legit.

>stop crying dude you're doing fine, take the L as an expensive lesson, know that you will have more Ls or you'll become very adverse to risk

I will at some point. I still hope for a BNT pump to lift the deficit a bit before I pull out. And being a native retard, I even have a little bit of hope left they might pull something out of their hat to fix this nightmarish situation. FML.

Look at the facts, they have less than half of the LP coins left in the protocol in some cases, no plan to fix or bring new liquidity into the protocol (who would stake with them after this kek), have already said they aren't using the foundation funds to make LPs whole, and basically have a zero percent chan e of survival, especially if they ever turn ILP back on which I doubt they actually will. Unfortunately Bancor will not recover, and they know this. They lost ~80% of their liquidity, and no one is going to go back to them. They've had all this time to gain market share and failed, so they definitely aren't gaining it now with their reputation. If they thought they had a chance to recover, they'd loan from the foundation and earn it back, but they know it's not happening, so they are letting the protocol die and then splitting the foundation money and riding into the sunset. The IL won't get better because all other assets will pump harder than BNT pumps, and BNT will dump harder whenever the assets dump. They are absolute bastards, and they almost stole 14k linkies from me that I had in there from v2.1 and never migrated to v3 and I happened to pull it out when shit went sound just days before they turbo raped everyone like me who was just casually holding in v2.1 and FORCED them to join v3 and steal their money to help ease the damage. absolute scumbags. fucking sucks ass, just start focusing on rebuilding, this market is wild and you can easily make it all back, get to work

I'm still in just because I'm overall very bearish on the overall market and have been rebuying my position slowly since. I'd be out today if I believed the 10k eth and 1k link story eoy but I'm still not sold that BTC isn't going down to 10k so any fluctuations I have in my deficit really aren't that bad. (1054-> 550 link, 4 -> 1.87 ETH). I've rebought 610 link and 2 ETH at these prices so I'm not down too bad.

I really did believe they could pull themselves out of this one and the foundation would step in but now it's becoming more and more obvious to me that ILP will probably never be made whole and are held hostage by the dao. I still think I can afford to stick it out because at least they've put up proposals but if we get a big crash again and no sign of life I'm out before it gets worse. That's how I'm rationalizing it for the time being. I am a minority though since everyone else is really bullish but I just don't see the case for it with the impeding economic doom we face this winter.

You guys are fucking retarded. The agency hired to spam this thread to FUD Bancor should be fired.

Bancor actually screwed over Celsius massively by disabling IL protection. Celsius took the biggest haircut of any LP by far.

The FUD about Bancor helping Celsius is totally backwards, they fucked them in order to save LPs in the protocol against the vulnerability.

https://coinjournal.net/news/chapter-11-bankruptcy-celsius-withdraws-eth-stake-in-bancor/

From this article:

"Withdrawing ETH stake in Bancor
According to reports from PeckShieldAlert, a suspicious Celsius account withdrew 12,880 ETH coins and 7,183 ETH coins were obtained from a Bancor liquidity pool.

Celsius has been reducing its ETH stake in Bancor after turning off the Transitory Loss Safeguard. Last Thursday, the crypto lender withdrew 2000 ETH from a liquidity pool on Bancor and received 1,150 ETH."

the devs hold 85% or more of any given token. uniswap never get a quarom unless hayden wants it, bancor just deletes all proposals they don't like and in one of the BIPS they gave themselves the power to act unitlaterally anyways, do the DAO is functionally meaningless.

its true, there are alot of newfags here that weren't around in 2017 when eth went from $7 in january to $400 by spring, fueled by ICO's.
the biggest ICO ever at the time was Bancor, pulling in 153 million. It got crushed by tezos later that year with an uncapped ICO that took in 250 million in "donations" to a fucking ex goldman banker.
bancor still holds the #2 spot and that 153 million ICO was a huge part of the original hyper moon cycle for eth from single to triple digits.

You've clearly been snoozing bizfag and don't know the slightest thing about crypto but I'd spoonfeed you. ORE is the solution to mass blockchain adoption. It depends on the pools and your overall situation. BNT outperformed BTC the last months and I am mostly in the WBTC pool so waiting worked out so far for me, the deficit in that pool shrunk quite a bit. It also depends on if you are in v2.1 or v3, v2.1 LP's might get a withdraw window soon and IL could be less on your personal v2.1 position compared to the socialized v3 positions.

Bottom line is: If you wait, you will risk losing even more tokens for the chance to getting more back. If you withdraw now you realize your loss. You have to tick the box, accepting you are only getting some of your TKN back, so you are out of the picture for any future compensations.

We don't know hat is happening behind the scenes. But I can't imagine they will just let their project die, they wouldn't be still hiring otherwise. They still have v3 features they planned to roll out now, but they have to adjust them to the new situation. My guess is they are trying to get more LP's to withdraw so it wil be easier to compensate the rest. Even if there is no compensation there should still be some attempts from them to hype up the BNT token as it increasing in price the easiest way out of the deficit. Also BNT is finally not getting printed like crazy anymore so I don't think it's impossible that it moons a bit soon
