recyclers. scrap yards. and op is a retard because none of those places would pay 300 for catalytic converter.

Dont know if they are stamped but nobody ever checks it it has any. Buyers are probably scummy garages and migrants and ghetto folks (aka niggers) so it isnt as easy to sell if you dont have the connections

Think it depends on if you have emissions testing or not. Around here in Cplorado, things got even worse because they passed a law that requires your new cats to be compliant with the Californian list. To get a new catalytic converter? When I looked 800 bucks. If I was a month earlier then I could have gotten one for like a quarter of it the shop told me. Thankfully all the emissions work I did on it let me still squeeze through barely despite my fucked cat but yeah around here a lot of places have to be licensed to install cats because of all our gay ass emissions laws in northern Colorado.

the palladium and platinum is what's valuable, don't own a hybrid or toyota tundra if you live in a bad area

i think you need to do some more research on this topic. catalytic converters contain platinum, palladium, and rhodium, all very valuable rare elements. it is difficult to sell them to scrap yards now as you have to prove ownership of the type of car it came off via the stampings, but they are absolutely worth that much and more.

i know converters contain precious metals and ive sold a few to scrap yards before they started requiring proof of ownership. the most i got was like 150. i think it depends on the car
