If a PM is directly trying to get you to do something it's usually a project manager, they handle day-to-day task management. These are your type to go get a PMP cert.
In Product I only ever talk to team/department leads like principal roles, engineering/portfolio/finance/sales/marketing managers, etc. and only on rare instances for very specific items to actual engineers/developers.

There are MEs that still make $100k+. Those are the guys with over a decade experience. According to the BLS, the typical starting salary for a BSME in the US is $55k. I started at $60k. No. I live off of 2-3 dollars a day, Rice, beans, chicken, and spices. Its not extravagant by any means. I suppose its a matter of perspective. buying in bulk helps, 20lbs of flour enough for a year of your bread needs when mixed into your diet, 20 lbs of rice, is the same, ect. A lot of your diet can be pantry safe cheap grains and canned proteins, then your weekly perishables are just butter, milk, eggs, and whatever discount meat is on sale.
