Today, I turned on the stock market episode of "The Problem With Jon Stewart," and then I left the room and started getting ready for work. I wasn't sure whether she would pay attention, or just fuck around on her phone instead.

I think people (especially redditors) get caught up in the whole "shares in your own name" in regards to CS. DRS was never about having some advantage over brokers but rather to hurt hedgie liquidity (shares that cannot be shorted) and to create the theoretical infinity pool. The existence of the obscene amount of synthetic shares is the reason for MOASS. Anyone who went 100% should have done more research. Ideally you should have aimed to create a good stack in a broker and then continue to DRS any additional shares you acquire. That, or just maintain a 50/50 ratio between CS and a broker.
