It gets referenced along with ICP in many blockchain technical papers/presentations, however it seems that it needs to be scaled through bigger blocks. Big blocks are the enemy now, but from an idealist point of view, the space should move from a fragmented L2 system towards a consolidated Monolithic one which has currently proved to be more secure. I think Layer 2's have still to prove thier robustness and if they do in the long term, then the big block thesis is out the window and ETH wins for the most part.
