Redpill me on platinum vs silver
>platinum wont be used anymore due to EVs replacing ICEs, EVs don't need catalytic converters -- main use case of platinum
>silver will be used for future batteries, 10x increase in demand from this alone
>silver will be used for current and future solar panel tech, 5x increase in demand >comex jews will never let silver pump

i saw this last thread but didnt say anything. you guys understand that if an entire industry adopts something like a material (more than it already has, with silver) then, the price goes down?
if the "industry" is buying silver for car batteries(?) and if we say that every single company/car battery in the world uses silver, then theyll first buy up all of the silver, make mining/getting/moving it easier, and itll become cheaper and more bulk. not to shill but to give you some black-white comparison, then, if platinum is "no longer used" because every exhaust in the world is melted down and no more are made with platinum ever, then the price would go up, as 99% of the market for platinum dries up, becomes slower, with less incentive and "big guys" to keep it moving for others to take. the price would go up in this case as there are less uses for this

remember also that the "largest most difficult hurdle to overcome" with newer technologies such as car batteries is "adaption" and "footing" the cost of this. to make everything silver (and not platinum) there would have to be a lot of money poured into it, before it becomes profitable, or, adapted at all

>> No.50409667

>>50409585
I.E. if the people that make car batteries start to use silver for it, they wont be buying it from you. the price of it wont change. itll go down, even, as they will be getting it from bulk sellers wholl be getting more of it too. and itll make the price go down - i dont know how you see this making it go up
not that any single thing ever has a huge "world changing" impact on something like literal metals found in the ground as market

That's the biggest problem. People can't afford to take advantage of this dip because the cost of living has gone up. A lot of people who managed to save up money and buy silver during the Trump economy have been crushed by Biden and have been forced to sell their stacks. The available market cap of platinum is extremely tiny. Almost every asset will swell in price as money starts looking for a safe home. And aside from money use, exchange use, indsutrial use etc. There is a feature to these markets that is a bottleneck in supply that could cause a panic into the metal. Get your seat early. Platinum is more heavily shorted than silver in relation to marketcap
Green ev memes won't work, most cars will be hybrids which require more PGMs for the catalyzes compared to regular ICE vehicles.
Platinum has only recently been manipulatable, more use cases are discovered. The world's hardest and most scratch resistant alloy is gold+platinum
It will also be used heavily in hydrogen fuel cells going forward
For me, the main charm is that it is very dense and value dense, while simultaneously being more historically undervalued compared to gold than silver
As soon as I run out of storage space I am only going to stack platinum and gold

They have restrictions on what we can and can't use in the "free" area. If we get a claim its free game to do what ever as long as we reclaim the land. The forest service doesn't want people just tearing it all up to protect the land (I can't disagree cause it would be dope to take my kids there some day). Once we bought our rings I just sold the gold we had there was no point in my mind holding it when I could use it to get more gear. There will be more to come out of the ground!
As per the black sand, I just gotta get another cast iron pan to roast it off and not worry about metal poisoning/cross contamination. but its been in vinegar since a few weeks ago just letting it sit. Hopefully I can get just a bit of dust out of it see if its worth it you know?

Hi frens,

Copper looks like it's $7/kg. https://markets.businessinsider.com/commodities/copper-price

But it's $100/kg here https://silvergoldbull.ca/1-kg-kilo-elemental-copper-bar

And it's $65/kg at sketchy places https://www.amazon.ca/Kilo-Copper-Bar-Bullion-Paperweight/dp/B08BJGXWFW/

And $25/kg from China (lol).

Where can I buy copper for less than a 900% markup?

Either buy copper pipe at the hardware store or buy and save old pre-1892 pennies. Otherwise copper seems like a waste if you aren't building something with it, it's too bulky and makes your hands smell bad.

just buy silver and gold instead. if you want to diversify buy some platinum or palladium. it doesn't need to be complicated.

Meanwhile, i don't know much about canadian currency composition, but in my country the coins are pure copper from before a certain date; only recently were they debased to steel and such, which means you can indeed stack coinage, just from before a certain date.

Failing that, see the first paragraph.

platinum(and group) is now officially a better buy than silver and gold.

>skeleton key of organic chemistry
>diesel catalyst converters
>scientific alloys
>medical industry
>electrical sensors/parts
>Spot below mining price vs. 10$ mining price per oz for silver
>vast majority of metal comes from South african wage-slaves forced down mineshafts(unstable supply)

silver is literally just a 10% upgrade from copper for 300x the price for most applications. There are a few specific chemical usages, but other than that it's copper++. Redditors don't understand this and just parrot their memes about muh-bacteria and heat/electric transfer when copper is better at anti-bacteria and only 6-10% worse on the other 2 fronts. Silver isn't even a noble medal, it turns black just by being exposed to air for extended periods of time.

Don't buy the reddit-mineral men, or just buy a suicide stack and stop. I get that your brain thinks the potential gains are higher getting more smaller items but you're putting a price ceiling in your head for the other metals. We are talking about the 1 of a kind magic properties that these elements have that give them value -- not just a mirror finish and "muh shiny". I can buff a piece of aluminum and it'll be silver-colored too.

Gold is cool too but remember that platinum is 30x rarer on the surface than gold and is way undervalued comparatively.

Just looking at the silver premiums it's a no brainer. And although platinum is rarer yes but it also has much fewer uses than gold, basically one use in automobile manufacturing, a use that is expected to die off in the future with electric cars. And also on top of that it's also very actively recycled if I remember correctly. It doesn't make much sense to buy it now unless you think they will find some other use for it in the future. But that's pure gambling and nobody that buys silver or gold is doing it to gamble.

Aus I figured I'd ask you since you replied to someone about the ato and capital gains tax. I just want to know if the transaction has to be tied to my name by law or something and if that means I haev to provide ID at a vendor. Or if I can get around it by trading peer to peer paid in cash.

autocatalyst usage is only really for diesel(not going away any time soon), but they are adapting cars to use it because it's way cheaper than palladium(gasoline catty)

But I actually don't really care about the autocatalyst usage, I think that south africa will just implode eventually and since Russia is closed-off now there will be 2% supply or something like that

A cash sale is the easiest when hiding your shit, and it wont flag anything unless its over 10 grand when you deposit. Personally I would just keep it out of the bank, use it that way so there is less of a paper trail for your purchases
Places like pawn brokers require ID in order to keep them safe in case its stolen property, if they send that away even if it all goes smoothly I dont know

One problem, platinum is too ugly and it competes with gold in same rarity range, yet its much harder to make coins out of it. So gold will always win, if you want something with future, you would ha to find something that continues the rarity line

Bought these for $62 shipped yesterday, 18th century American coin silver (~.900) 8.75" serving spoons, ought to weigh between 200-250 grams total. An OK deal but I have my eyes on a high quality ~4 kilogram tea set with platter today I might be able to snag for 1/3 of melt value, wish me luck bros.
