As far as I know Nordics don't even have a minimum wage, and certainly a lot of people make well below $20 an hour. I think you have a fairly naive picture of the situation up here.

Unlike in Germany, France and Spain everything is ridiculously expensive here and the purchasing power is shit. A fucking bottle of wine is more than double vs Italy, let alone cars which may have over 100% tax on top of the retail price. You think those heavily taxed gross 11 € / h wages enable people to maintain a comfy life? Contrary to what they advertise to you, no.

Moreover, I fail to see how some startup VC prospects are any better in the Nordics. Finland for example is dirt poor with capital, Sweden and Norway probably have some. Central Europe has far more capital to deploy to just about anything.
