Reflecting back, all of the times I've had unwarranted success with women have been because I've been known for something good or useful - not because of my social skills but the fact that even though I'm socially incompetent people still see me as valuable to have around.

I think for a lot of guys here you tend to be loners - and being a loner is a massive social credibility fail - being a rich loner with a lambo is arguably less effective than being a popular poor guy:
