Seems like it's not a good sign for there to be so much node concentration. Will price be affected?

No.
AWS cannot access what's being run on those servers.
So there's no risk that someone centralized will take control of all of them, not even Amazon.

In fact there's less risk with nodes run on AWS because of their uptime capability. They're less susceptible to hardware or ISP outages than someone running a node on their own hardware.

kek, this.
AWS have been compromised so many times, and services can be shut down or throttled.

People still use aws? Pathetic on the level of being a twitter user

You need to be 18 years or older to post on these forums, just FYI

>> No.49957156

it's not ideal but it shouldn't be a risk given that there are many full nodes running on personal servers, and when the PoS transition comes I don't think the big stakers will use AWS

>> No.49957161

amazon will shut them down when it's the most beneficial for them
or when the gov says to
goes for all crypto on aws

lmao the risk of AWS shutting down nodes when they get a threatening letter from the government has already been discussed in all proof-of-stake chain communities. it is a serious problem and Ethereum will soon become the largest marketcap coin to face this problem. wouldnt be surprised if SBF builds a short then has his government buddies send a letter to amazon right after the merge.

Yes, the problem is running your own hardware is too mucky and doesn’t scale. There’s only one real way to solve it and that is with a decentralized cloud, which is what ICP brings to the table.
