/biz/I need your advice

I am 27 earning 30k a year, my gf makes 60k. I own my home as a result of inheritance and my gf wants to buy one closer to her work to save gas and time. She's from Korea and her family is wealthy so she says if we get married her dad will help pay for the new house.

Is getting a second house in these conditions a good idea? (I could lock in rates and rent my house for passive income during the recession)
Is getting married for a house a good idea? (she might take half later but if I get a house in the meantime that's cool)

yes, get the house and then get married and then stop working entirely
stretch the marriage out as long as possible and then in the divorce you will get half the assets and alimony

sounds like a joke but men do this and win

well, owning cash-flowing assets like a paid-off rental house would generally be a good idea to build wealth. especially if you got it for fucking free via inheritance. just weigh this against actually selling the place and investing elsewhere, if you only would get 3% rental yield from it or something then maybe it's not a great idea to rent it.
be sure you don't get screwed if she proves to be insane, but overall if you owned the place before the marriage i don't think you could lose that even in the most cucked states.

I don't get the confusion.

Your FIL is offering you a free fucking house if you get married. And you're a bum ass loser who doesn't have anything going for him other than an inherited house.

So if your FIL buys you a house, you each bring a house to the table and it's even for the inevitable divorce. So if your future wife makes more money than you, seems like it's advantageous for you to get married assuming your girl isn't a complete bitch to live around.

Marriage to a wealthy better earning woman as a low earning man is always worth it if (i) she makes you a sandwich after sex and (ii) cleans and wants kids.

P.S. my bitchy Syrian gf stops wanting sex, is constantly fighting with me, still at uni earning nothing, does not clean or cook and is an insta/tiktok addict.

Also, if you want to go this route, you can secretly put your inherited house and existing assets under management of a trust fund, which legally cannot be taken under divorce, since you don't "technically" own the assets.

she cleans, pays for things, and wants kids. She also loves me which is nice. I sleep on the couch rather than the bed and she always comes and cuddles before we go to sleep

I'm honestly astounded that op didn't see that as an absolute win. Her family is probably rich as fuck and her intention of marrying you is a greencard just for bragging rights and a potential hot hapa kid
