i just redownloaded the app. i also downloaded gemini again. i mostly use binance but i don't feel happy having all of my money in any one investment, exchange or bank so will be shifting some around.

i also looked into getting a panama bank account partly for the lols. the national bank app only has 10k downloads and zero reviews. almost everything is in spanish with no translate option. the app also doesn't seem to work. i managed to get it to entirely freeze at the login screen without even doing anything (don't even have an account to try logging in with anyway).

i also got the ubs and credit suisse apps but the account setup is a bit more involved than normal uk retail banks.

Summary: We the employees at Coinbase believe that the executive team has recently been making decisions that are not in the best interests of the Company, its employees, and its shareholders. COO Emilie Choi, CPO Surojit Chatterjee, and Chief People Officer LJ Brock have been the most prominent executives who have been executing plans and ideas that have led to questionable results and negative value. Some of these include the following:

The failure of the Coinbase NFT platform
The over-prioritization of certain products, which has led to a lack of focus on other important issues like infrastructure
Initiatives like the Dot Collector and the Performance review system that has led to a toxic workplace culture
Aggressively hiring for thousands of roles, despite the fact that it is an unsustainable plan and is contrary to the wisdom of the crypto industry
Not being able to output any higher or better quality products and services despite aggressively hiring more employees
Rescinding offers to new employees despite promising them that their offers would not be rescinded two weeks earlier, leading to a massive negative reception from the public and the industry at-large
The failure to communicate important ideas and plans to the rest of the company, such as the possibility of lay-offs and the plan to fix many technical debts
A generally apathetic and sometimes condescending attitude from the CPO, COO, and Chief People Officer

I know a few people that started at coinbase and were gloating about it and now they're all scared shitless. These were guys that drank at the same watering hole I went to. They were all working at the same major bank on the customer service side doing white glove support.
They were making ~60k a year, but no real extra compensation to speak of. Coinbase basically hired the lot of them and were giving crazy good referral bonuses so they could wipe out entire departments of legacy banks.
I think they were trying to buy legitimacy by not having a pajeet pick up the phone so they gave a 10% pay bump and a fat package to it (which now ain't worth much). Now they're scared of getting laid off because if they have to go back to the legacy bank itll probably know any promotions they had lined up for at least another couple of years back.
