Yes, chainlink Mainnet released. It was the first time I ever felt like I was gonna make it. I made like $12k in a day which was a tremendous amount of money for a poorfag wagie like me. If I recall, it first hit $1 after 2017 upon mainnet release. Then was Google and Coinbase listing and I made hundreds of thousands so quickly. Quite unreal those days.

But mainnet was a truly WTFWT moment. I think I had my Links on Binance or something and I checked my value, per usual while sweeping floors at work and couldn’t believe my eyes.

depends. events with long term good news are met with a dump yes. but in the long run money comes back in time to profit from the good news after the market conveniently crashes from them. could be a dip buying opportunity on link soon if they announce bullish long term prospects like staking soon. but if they surprise people with something that is immediately profitable, if sergey walks on stage and flips the switch on staking right then and there, i don't think it will dump on that unless bitcoin is dumping at the time. but i wouldn't expect that to happen. and thats my uninformed two cents, not a financial advisor

>> No.49428206

i think dumps happen on events because the people who wanted to hear something immediately profitable pull out, some others pull out because they know it will dump and after hearing the long term prospects they want to buy more, others just panic when the others pull out and pull out too.

This is what I remember:

2018 Consensus was hyped up majorly by anons here and I was so excited for it. Maybe we got a pre-run from 30 to 50c or something like that. I remember, still sweeping floors back then (I worked on constructions sites in south florida all day every day and lived with parents so I could put all my money into Link). Nothing happened at Consensus that was significant and then Chainlink proceeded to dump to below 20c subsequently and it was truly demoralizing. I felt like a complete idiot and I spent all the time that I wasn't sweeping floors trying to weigh the odds that Chainlink is bull shit and that crypto in general is just bull shit and that was probably the only time where the likelihood, in my mind, was that Chainlink was bull shit and I was gonna be a crippled wagie my whole miserable life. I was very demoralized because, despite buying Link mostly at 30c, I was deeply negative on the thousands of dollars I had invested which was all my money. Not to be a blogfag, but I was so demoralized, I started using fentanyl just to get through my days and Chainlink was what saved me because there was still the hope and I burned through any cash I had and wouldn't allow myself to touch my 33k (at the time) stack (which was worth, maybe $10k?)

Anyway, Consensus came back around the following year and I didn't even take notice honestly. I remember it being around noon and I took my wagelunch and checked my phone and my one true fren excitedly had texted me that Sergey announced mainnet. I checked my portfolio and truly WTFWT'd.

I spent the rest of the day hiding in various corners of the building I was sweeping like a hatian considering whether or not I should tell my boss to suck my dick (this was before the tongue my anus meme).

It's been a journey anon.

Literally no one is talking about this because of the steak blog when it's incredibly significant
Dont let it slide
JP Morgan joins Chainlink network as node operator
Announced the same day as steak. No coincidence, it's part of bigger strategy
Project North Star is the liquidation of Consensys by JPM
From a commie venture with thousands of employees but no profit
To a handful of employees with a chokehold on core infra and money printers
People here don't understand what a money printer metamask is, how deeply entranched infura is and how Lubin betrayed everything and everyone, how JPM went on a stealth hostile takeover
And LINK nodes is their next step?
They wouldn't bother if they didn't expect serious profit from staking
Expect more and more institutional nodes following steak
