Naas going live on mainnets in spring.
Naas mainnet requires staking.
Naas mainnet requires market.link overhaul.

Staking very likely at consensus.

Why does NaaS require staking though? Couldn't it just be managing a node with the current compensation without stake?

>Why does NaaS require staking though?
Because "node as a service" implies you stake coins on someone else's node.

>> No.49315320

>>49315257
>>49315269
Just looked into it, apparently it really is just someone else running a node for you.
(not really knowledgeable about Linkpool specifically)

In this case, it requires staking because it's literally someone else running your node and you need monetary guarantees to make sure they don't misbehave.

>> No.49315327

Except it's already live and not used for staking: https://linkpool.io/resources/naas-phase-2-released

>> No.49315331

>>49315269
it's actually because neet nodes won't have real world reputation like the established nodes so you can use staked link in its place and build reputation from there
naas isn't about staking on someone else's node that will come through the main staking app

this is only only testnet and aimed at developers so they can spin up nodes and dons quickly for testing
for mainnet it will focus on "smart" retail

so with naas.link going to mainnet I can spin up my own node and stake link there to build reputation which implies staking needs to be live for the naas.link going on mainnet?

not idea on consensus and staking announcement. Let's hope though
With staking and lpl, my understanding is that other nodes will use LinkPool's staking infrastructure. to stake on these nodes you won't need lpl but these nodes may issue their own access tokens
Have to wait and see though, just how I imagine it working

put in 50% now because next week (10th) could be a major event for the project and price like staking ccip or something else. If its a nothingburger you can still put in 50% with a discount after the event.
Then dca in until you hit your target then wait and become rich.

dont forget about linkpool secure messaging. i cant figure out if this is actually something massive. it is replacing email in the context of communication between node operators and data providers, but will this exact technology also replace email once web3 sign in is commonplace?
