/biz/, I fell for the medical school meme. I am in too deep now with six figure debt. On the positive side, I went full autist and crushed the board exam, so I can basically go into any specialty.

How do I leverage my MD degree for maximize financial gains? I am trying to go against the beaten path while still using the degree. Is there a medical specialty that is most amenable to business? Any advice or ideas would be appreciated.

I am 25 years old now. My goal is to be financially independent by age 40. I'll graduate with ~$250K debt in 2020, then do a 3-5 year residency depending on what specialty I pick, making ~$60K /year during that time. After that, I will be a full-fledged attending medfag making $250K- $400K+ /year depending on the field.

Btw, I am married, and my wife is going to graduate from PT school in a few months and start making ~$65K /year, which will help pay off my debt.

How do I make it?

Just keep going full autist and study hard. With the amount of chaos, disease, laziness, and obesity in the world, you will never be out of work if you make it to medfag status. Everyone needs a doctor.
As for specialization, do anesthesiology, or neurosurgery if you're actually a fullly high iq rick and morty level genius

The audacity of you fucking retards. You come here sharing tips and analysis of crypto, when it's just a roll of the fucking dice. You're like a sad old booze hound that thinks he's got a great method for winning the coin slots. You all think you're Jordan Belfort. If you weren't £1000 deep in crypto by 2014 you're a fucking victim. If you haven't already lost most of your money, you're going to at one point. Even the photos you post of your "14k portfolio", you're not kidding anyone. Spend 10k, up 4k one day, down 4k the next. This should not be a business and finance thread it should be a help thread for problem gamblers. You're fucking pathetic. You're lazy. You have nothing going in in life. That's why you choose crypto currency. You're all too lazy to invest in real business ventures. Take me for example, a real entrepreneur. I've been buying and selling cars since I was 17. It's paid my bills for 6 years. Just this morning I bought a "spares or repairs" listing for £150. Got it running after a quick reference of the hanes manual and an hour on YouTube. Same car, similar age and millage are selling for £4500 on autotrader. Night just sell it for £4000, for a quick sale. Even if I buy a car that is truly fucked, it still has scrap value, real physical value. What do you have? Nothing. Ive also put the deposit on a car that cost 3300 but will sell for 5000 easily. And all that took was 15 mins looking for a good deal. Last year I used only £8000 to buy my uncle a van and tolls for his landscaping business, for which I'm getting £1200 per month cash for zero effort. No sleepless nights. No spending hours each day following trends (100% pointless task) and now I'm looking to buy a small piece of low grade land for forestry operations. You idiots really have no idea about business or finance. I hope bitcoin crashes to 1k most of you fucking hang yourself. Worthless posers.

Crypto investor here. The next big thing is going to be ponzi schemes within ponzi schemes. Normies haven't caught on to it yet, but in Ethereum, you can basically create sub-currencies. People are throwing money at those like crazy. And it's much better than investing in a new crypto, because with that you have to wait until it is traded on a major trading platform, which often takes weeks. With the Ethereum sub-currencies and related ponzi schemes, you can invest right away. The creators of the ponzis often leave only a half hour window in which you are allowed to throw your money at them, creating a nice time-pressure element that encourages idiots to part with their money. These sub-currencies are the reason why Ethereum is as high as it is now. There's nothing to top this hype.

Yeah, I realize that's more than like 99% of America of whatever. But, like I said, I am trying to make "fuck you" money by the time I'm 40. Simply going oing down the beaten path won't get me there. It will allow me to live very comfortably, but not lamboland tier. The richest medfags have side hustles outside of medicine. The only thing I can think of is real estate investment, namely rental property investment. I am thinking I will try to pay off my debt ASAP with the help of my wife's income, and then continuously put a down payment on a new mortgage for a rental property as soon as I have the cash. I'd pay a property management company to deal with the tenants. Is this viable? I want it to be passive income, not a source of headaches.

Burgers have done shady shit for sure, but you cant blame the average citizen and generalize like you are doing. The govt is fucked up and banks run everything. Same as Europe.
Both the U.S and EU are in deep shit, similar problems. Throwing blames at each other does nothing but create resentment amongst racial cousins. (((They))) have been inciting this hostility for decades and you fall for it like most lefty cucks, and thats what 90% of US haters are based on experience.

OH COME OOOON
Nobody has inciting hostility.
Forget this (((They))) bullshit. Yes, big corporations want money. On this fucking board everybody is so greedy.

But who is fucking bombing up and down left and right around the world?
Who is killing leaders from foreign countries? Yes, the US government.

I know it's not the laymans fault. I know most huge companies have HQ in switzerland. I know London has many financial HQ.
And I've said before. We fight together, we always have.
We fought against slaughter, for freedom and our rights.

But here comes the point. How the fuck is everybody so nationalist? Why the fuck is everyone so nazi?
I can admit I like some things about the US, I want to see them here. Hell, until the 80s it was illegal to wear a dress in New York as a men. Those brave fighters have inspired activists here in europe.

I just want people to take of their fucking nationalist glasses. Patriotism is blindness, and PUTTING STUDENTS INTO DEBT IS SLAVERY!!! true story.

And everybody warned them.
You are right about the banks owning us. It's a monetary lending system. But I don't care as much about gov. debt then personal debt on my children, just for schooling.

they pulled you out of the biggest depression your country experienced by inciting sheer will on the workforce. See what i mean by propaganda, you probably know shit about 3rd Reich, only that they were evil and put jews in ovens.
>thinking you can get rid of personal debt without getting rid of national debt
You wont end debt until you forbid usury and guess what, thats what those 'evil fascists' did you faggot.
But even if we cant do that, the US college model is just a different way of doing this. College finances itself by charging students while in EU college finances itself by charging everyone. No one forces students in the US to take debt, people just do so cause they cant save money for shit. Use your damn brain commie

fellow med student here. MS4. What was your step 1 score? And what specialty are you currently thinking?

Do something with easy hours. I'm planning on ophtho, gas looks like it starting to get more competitive now that ppl see the money they can still make even with crnas taking part of the pie.

idk why you are asking biz about specialties though, no on here knows shit about that. /lit/ has a lot of med students on it as well though.

If you stay in the research game you can get hookups with the INDUSTRY which can amke you money but even more cool, be in on the cutting edge of science and doing tons of awesome shit.

My plan is to go private, but still be heavily involved in research with plenty of crypto/investing still in free time

My pay check will be 600k on average when i start practicing in the specialty im geared for. I dont think I can make that in europe as well as paying the much smaller taxes. My wife is English, but I more or less forced her to come to the US because of the salary difference of practicing medicine and taxes in the US vs UK, and the rest of Europe is even more fucked when it comes to doctor salaries and taxes.

High tuition is a small price to pay. Stay mad europoors

Here's the path:

1.- Divorce as soon as you can. All the possible gains you'll address in the future aren't yours; your woman will fight for them.

2.- Harvest all the money living at minimal cost until late 20's. If possible, find two jobs.

3.- DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT follow your specialty. Better pay your debt first.

4.-Once all your debts are paid. Give two more years on saving until you reach a descent sum that could help you to choose a portfolio. Invest in portfolio index like DJIA; don't be a faggot, go to an investment bank, they'll help you to do that. On the worst you just have to pay them commissions.

I'm a Mechanical Eng. with a M.Sc. in MechEng and a Masters in B.A. I did all of the last and now that I have reached the 30's have a house, a car and ready to study a PhD. No debts, experienced in my field and ready to move on the next stage. Also, I have gains through my portfolio.

In the US we go straight into specialty after getting our MD. You would basically kill all chances of getting in if you didn't go straight in. He will make 50-60k during the 4-7 years as a resident plus fellowship, then 250-400k as salary unless he goes into something more lucrative.

>> No.4736071

idk why he is complaining though. I'm a year away from finishing and starting residency. Will be more brutal hours of 80-100 hr/week of work for several more years. But on average, we will make more doing this than any other job. You could graduate bottom of your class and go into the lowest paying field of pediatrics or psychiatry and still make about 40k more per year than lawyers coming out of Harvard and Columbia law school. and about 50k more than the average CEO makes annually. Going into more lucrative specialties obviously nets you 2-4times more than average CEO salaries or top 0.001% of lawyers

And after finishing residency it's very possible to scale hours down to about 50 per week and the job itself is fun and rewarding since you are literally helping people, and get to make lives better, which I think ppl often underestimate that aspect of the job. ANd even the most boring specialties still involve a lot of problem solving and thinking, keeping it from getting boring.

Salaries are obviously great and can translate into ridiculous gains when you start investing them straight away.

Totally agree with living like a monk for as long as possible though. Most docs are so sick of having lived like students for the past 12-15 years that they buy a new car or something day one of the job instead of being patient with the newfound salary
