Anyone on /biz/ know where to start selling rare and expensive wood?

I have procured large quantities of black cherry walnut wood, perfect for furniture or cabinets. They come in boards with varying thickness, widths and height. The wood itself is stunning with blacks, purples, reds, yellows and greens.

If anyone is interested or has experience I would appreciate the help.

See pic related, it's made from the wood.

Location? I've been interested in furniture building for awhile now, and that is gorgeous wood.

Best bet to sell it would be small and medium sized furniture builders. If you try to sell to a big company, they probably have sources for different kinds of wood on the cheap. But a smaller operation might not.

Spectacular wood bump

Shipping after sales on the internet is possible but difficult due to weight restrictions. Any forums or websites for woodworkers I should inspect?

Craftsmen (artisans) and small businesses for furniture, cutlery and jewelry.

Have your own website and clients may come at you.

Ah. Other side of the country.

Like I said before the most bang for your buck, is to sell the wood to small builders and maximize profit. But if you just want to dump it for quick cash, look in the local yellow pages for wood dealers and you can wholesale it to them.

Being the middleman will net more profits, but will take longer.

Selling to a middleman will be quicker buy will probably net you less money then selling it piece-by-piece.

Solid advice, is ebay worth looking into?

I am looking for an online source to put me in touch with small wood builders.

/r/woodworking, it's a huge subreddit and, if nobody wants to buy it off you, they'll know someone who will. They will attempt to jew you though, so beware.
Others: local craigslist, Google local craftsmen or co-ops, contact them directly telling them you have the shit.

If you weren't three thousand miles and an international border away, I'd buy every scrap you have.

Important: is it seasoned (aged/dried in a kiln or a few years in the air)?

I didn't take any photos of the slabs for sale. All the furniture I am posting was made with it however.

I don't know much about wood so I will describe the situation. The wood has been stored indoors for at least a decade, stacked on end with many boards 6' in length and about 2-3' wide with varying thickness of 2-10 inches. They appear dark, rough cut but solid, dense and heavy without any visible cracks.

Thanks for the links. Is there a way to ship anything across continent without doing it myself? From my understanding there are weight restrictions to protect people who lift and move items.

They're in slabs? Good god. If you have slabs like

And they've been air drying for a decade... Yeah, dude, you're sitting on a gold mine. Get the word out and people will be knocking down your door. Have pics of the raw wood, unfinished?

I don't have pics yet. When I do I will return.

I am interested in logistics at the moment these are heavy and I have already had deals fall through in the past over shipping. other large items It's unlikely anyone will travel here to pick them up and I can't count on it.

You've got some really nice wood.
