>not buying Lisk, Req, whatever at those levels
>buying Ethereum instead

are you fucked in the head what are you doing?
I'm 50% Eth, 50% Btc and shitcoins.
But seriously, do you expect eth to keep rising ike that? I don't fucking believe it.
I bought this shit for like 160$ just a few months ago. No way it won't go back down to at least 300$ very soon. Only timing my Eth exit for cheap re-entry right now. How about yall? No larping please, just honest opinions

Do I really fucking have to do this shit again.

ETH, it has been consolidating for far too long.
Meanwhile the Ethereum ecosystem is thriving, see the recent picture of the data. Ethereum processes more transactions than the rest combined. Talk about network effect.

Casper (Proof of Stake update) is rumored to be launched in the middle or end of next year. As soon as the date is announced, the real run up will start, because everyone will suddenly realize they want to become a staker. Also, when you are a staker, you will outrun the inflation and not only "store your value", but gain value. So ETH is a better store of value than BTC/BCH if you play it right.

Make no mistake, ETH will become #1 next year. 5x or even 10x is not a joke, unironically.

Oh, and Ethereum has 50x cheaper transactions than BTC at the moment with all this traffic + multiple scaling solutions are planned.

Only normies buy Bitcoin anymore and I swear /biz/ is about 95% normies nowadays. A lot of people will soon be shoved some education about blockchains down the throat.

How will this effect ERC20's? The good ones at least.

>> No.4557371

>>4557366
To elaborate on that, wouldn't they also get PoS with the Casper upgrade?

Scaling solutions like plasma and sharding would boost the price imho especially for omg and req.

Difficult to predict. I think majority of them are overvalued, but they might still pump. We are in a serious multi year bull market here.
There will however be more and more tokens being constantly made. Most devs are running for ETH right now. This will dilute the value of tokens probably. But a few select of these new ones might become the next tech supercompanies within 10 years.

Do you think whales will try to drive down the price of ETH pre-casper upgrade to accumulate as much as possible for stake gains?

>> No.4557417

>>4557371
Tokens are running on the ETH network. There is no one mining tokens. So there will be no token staking. Only ETH will get PoS.

>>4557409
So many people think that whales are constantly manipulating prices. I don't believe that is even possible anymore with such big market caps and volumes. Even if they would try to keep the price down, they would need to sell loads of ETH for that and would come out as losers in the end.

The last 5 months was the time to buy while price was being kept down. This wasn't some whales manipulating however, probably just the ICOs selling the ETH that they got from stupid people investing millions into 4-man dev teams.

Thanks for the replies. Thoughts on FUN and BAT specifically?
>>4557417
I thought I heard something about other Erc20's implementing PoS, so they must be able to do it somehow, no?

Thanks for your input anon, I appreciate it. Do you think think that ETH has yet to find its "big stride" yet, or are we well past that point? One would think that with the advent of more popular ERC20 tokens being supported by Ethereum, and Ethereum itself implemented proof of stake would be the real driver next year.

One way for tokens to get PoS is if they move onto their own networks and become coins themselves.

Actually, maybe I could be wrong on this. Anything is possible with a turing complete Solidity coding. They could probably make some form of token PoS on the ETH network as well.

As for FUN and BAT... I think they are in the majority of ERCs that are overvalued. Haven't researched enough about them though. So don't listen to my opinion 100%.

OMG will get its own blockchain and POS in q2 2018. It will be different than the POS of ethereum. ERC 20 tokens can not be staked on ethereum blockchain.

I think ETH will go past BTC next year. The price of ETH will definitely be higher 5 years from now. If there is a general market crash however for some reason, then price might go very low in the meanwhile. So... hodl for 5 years = 99% success, hodl for a year = dunno

Yup, people will start to learn that Bitcoin has competitors that are better in multiple ways.
