>>348298>Pulseaudio has a bad rep because Ubuntu included it before it was mature, pissing off lots ignorants.pulseaudio has a bad rep because it's unecessary. you don't need any of its features. if your driver doesn't do mixing, use dmix, you don't need pulseaudio for anything. if you need individual streams install it later. 99% of people that use mac and windows don't use those features and install custom software to manage that. linux is no different.adding in fucking NETWORK SUPPORT to your mic when nobody uses it is stupid bullshit.>Gnome3 is actually incredibly customizable but people hate the fact that you have to customize in JS instead of ticking little boxes.its defaults blow. nobody likes gnome's defaults. that's some failure right there.>d-bus is necessary for a usable desktop environment and simplifies lots of thing.no it doesn't its primary feature over unix sockets is a fun avenue for privilege escalation because it's way too complicated to do security right.>And systemd doesn't even need defending as it has been defended to death, and debated to death by that Debian mailing list.it was voted in by red hat and canonical employees.kay and poettering is everything wrong with linux. their recent tirade in the linux kernel mailing list and linus showing the craven selfish assholes they are should make it clear to anyone who isn't a defensive arch babby.
>>348303yeah it's insane. you'd think musicians would be the first to use pulse's "advanced" channel features, but they all end up using JACK on top of ALSA and stay the fuck away from pulseaudio.all the pro audio mixing software in linux pretty much demands JACK.why do we need pulseaudio again? what does it do?
I don't quite understand how this thread is now about linux audio but I have to say linux is completely unusable if you want to use it to make music.setting it up for a digital audio workstation with really low latency and a midi keyboard takes a day -- IF you're successful that is.the pure horror.
>>348303But musicians have JACK. Most of the butthurt on pulseaudio that i've heard is not from musicians but from regular users unable to get any audio working properly.
>>348308>nobody likes gnome's defaultsMany do. Same with Unity. It's just that pleased users aren't as vocal as angry ones. Also, no system has defaults like by a majority at launch unless it serves a niche and has to be seeked out by users (i.e. not included as a default in some distro).People hate change :p
>>348308>it was voted in by red hat and canonical employees.Didn't one former Canonical employ rage quit over the vote? I think Canonical just included it because Debian did.
>>348313>Most of the butthurt on pulseaudio that i've heard is not from musicians but from regular users unable to get any audio working properlyAnd?
>>348313JACK doesn't use pulseaudio.musicians have always had trouble with pulseaudio so they've used JACK.both pulseaudio and JACK run on top of ALSA. there's no reason to use pulseaudio over jack unless you're doing some elaborate shit like running your microphone over the internet.the butthurt is that pulseaudio is completely unnecessary and a shit and so is lennart poettering.>>348317have you tried using gnome3 on the desktop? you can only use it as a tablet really. Unity is fine, it makes some interesting design choices. gnome3 defaults are a joke.
>>348323>have you tried using gnome3 on the desktop?I've used it on laptop. It's defaults seem laptop oriented to me. I didn't love the defaults (didn't hate them) but it didn't matter since it was so customizable.

>>348555You're getting it wrong indeed. If you have coins in your wallet that are less than 30 days old but older than 3 days, you don't need to do anything else, just run the wallet, if encrypted, unlock it, and leave it be. Hover over the green arrow in bottom right to see if you have weight, if you do have weight you are staking. If the green arrow is gray and stays so for long, something is wrong.

>>348407How come?I've always wondered about those miners. Also, are there any good resources for getting into day trading?
>>348778because if you do the math NOW, you will get the ROI in a few months, but as time passes, the roi time will get bigger, eventually you will break even with that hardware in a long time. Meanwhile scrypt coins will be dead / unprofitable to mine. Those miners are indeed appealing, but they serve only one purpose, they're not like gpus you can use for gaming or resell.TL;DR just buy coins directly, it will be cheaper.
tfw network weight is 960k and next payment date is in 70 days
My coins won't stake because they are older than 30 days. Can I send them to swisskeks and then send them back to my wallet in order to get them staking?
>>348786i think that works.
>>348692>IceChatFucking lookslike something straight outta the 90s.
>>348786>>348788why not generate another address yourself and send your pnd there ? why pass thru a third party ?
>>348794does that work?
>>348794I tried that and it didn't work.
APPARENTLY THE IMPLEMENTATION OF "PROOF OF STAKE" HAD NO EFFECT ON THE VALUE OF "PND".
Well I just sent 50M PND to swisskeks and it has been 30mins and nothing shows up in their website -- not even a pending deposit. They ate all my coins GG I'm done with PND once and for all now.
>>348799it was worth 0.0000003btc when btc=450 and it's worth 0.00000003btc and btc=530 so I'd say it's gained value.
>>348799it's going to be a slow process, the PoS just stops people from mining and dumping so often and enables the multiple pool to buy up orders for people mining other coins.
"PND" IS LIKE STEAMED RICE; HIGH VOLUME TO MASS RATIO, AND OVERLY LOW DENSITY.
>>348796>>348797haven't tried, but it's the same principle as sendind to swisscex or mintpal and send back. Just saying that if it works sending money to a third party and then have send back, it's the same as sending to another address generated by yourself. And it should be safer, because you send to an address you control. Otherwise, this >>348800 might happen (though I think swisscex will eventually fix the issue and you will see your money correct)
>>348800check the blockchainalso check if the address was valid
gibe pnd in my mouf pls
>>348810>>348810is sending PND to the IRC wallet and then back smart ?
What's happening to Dogecoin? They just got on Nascar a week or so ago and now they're price is dropping? I don't get it.

Everyone should join the IRC channel too for live PNDOGE hot action:http://webchat.freenode.net/Channel: #PandacoinPND
I've had my PND wallet open this entire time and the last mining transaction received was over 30 hours ago from yesterday at 3 in the morning.I don't understand this PoS change. Whatever. It looks like the price is falling anyways, just trying to dump my PND now. Hoping this will reach 160 Litoshi again, but I doubt it.
>>348974yes keep dumping to make it less likely to go upkeep plastering those sell orders until the coin finally dies off

The price falling might be a good time to shill the multi pool on /r/Dogecoin again, perhaps combine it with a giveaway.

"Error: transaction creation failed"When trying to send coins to an exchange (so I can send them back and stake them). Also, how do I stop staking if I want to send coins again? Little confused as to how all this works 'exactly'. Halp plz.

Updated from 1.---- to the newest version, from the main website about 4 hours ago.I received this error a few times and kept trying, eventually it worked, but I don't know why it did or why I'm having a problem with it in the first place.T. Hanks
>>349105maybe try sending 10m at a time...
>>349105see >>349104
>>349162It seems to like 10m okay. Good call.lol @ amDOGE trying to move his wallet around at that rate ;)
>>349172Why do you even want to move your 100M? It's going to destroy your coinage
>>349175Because we have a maximum coinage of 30 days.He explained earlier that he wanted to renew that.
>>349177I don't see the logic. Do you even understand PoS?
>>349181What's not to see? Coins hanging in your wallet for longer than 30 days won't be staking anymore.
>>349183So we have to constantly move our coins around for continual staking?
>>349192Every month yeah.
>>349183That's a total lie. They will keep the same weight as if they were 30 days old. However, if they are sent in a transaction the coinage is completely destroyed.tl;dr leard to PoS amDOGE
