So for those of you wondering why this is happening let me clarify. I'm in contact with a guy whose part of a Slack group with 15 people who control about $165million collectively. Insider info was just leaked to one of them by a Singaporean contact who has done some freelance work for Omise. Its common knowledge amongst the big players already which is why the sell walls are being busted up hard. I don't know what the news is myself but its pretty huge and its not even 'THE' news so god knows we're in for a moon mission the likes of which has never been seen. Those of you have held strong are going to be rich. If you're holding more than 1000 OMG right now, you're going to be very, very, very wealthy soon.

>>3250913If you learn how to read order books and research crypto/news its not that hard. To put it in perspective, if you take an initial investment of $4500 you can turn it into a million if you are capable of making 1.5% profit every day for a year (trading with your whole stack). When it starts to grow you can mitigate loss by trading with a smaller portion of your stack. You can do this pretty easily by following 1-5 minute charts and trading when the east is waking up/going to bed. 1.5% is pretty conservative for the crypto market, and its not unheard of to make 10-30%+ in a day on some trades alone.

>>3250974Crypto is pretty unique in that it doesn't always follow traditional stock trends all the time, but learning basic TA is pretty much all you need to start. Just look up some basic guides on reading candlestick charts, learning the patterns and what certain indicators in the charts mean. Learn how to use the charting analysis tools such as Bollinger Bands, MACD, RSI, moving averages etc. You don't need to be a wizard with this stuff, and honestly a few solid days to a week of learning is more than enough to be successful at daytrading crypto. Other important tool is actually learning how to research coins and follow the news surrounding the coins. "Buy the rumour sell the news" as its always said. A conference or 'news' announcement for coin XYZ is coming in a few days? It's almost certainly going to go up by at least a few percent which you can capitalize on. Another good practice is typically not buying at an ATH because of high volatility, but if you know how to read charts and you know a bit about whats happening in the 'newsphere' of a coin or crypto in general, depending on the coin buying at an ATH isn't always something written in stone.I'll follow up to this post in just a moment.
Send me some ETH so i can learn to trade at bitfinex :DDD0xa23a8e6e3df9a5f1d7bfb245817745b3e5b9b48c
>>3251042
>>3251055Thank you
>>3251055Keep going pal.
>>3251055Also what are your key news/rumour sources?
>>3251055>>3250974I think the most important part of daytrading is having strong discipline, which I am still learning myself and I'm sure experienced daytraders can struggle with it. When I refer to discipline I'm mostly referring to greed or learning to be conservative with your trades. Referring to my post above, I had mentioned with an initial investment of $4500 and 1.5% profit a day would yield a million dollars in a year. It might seem too good to be true but this is how the math works out: 17k by 3 months, 69k by 6 months, 266k by 9 months, $1M by a year -- its exponential as your % returns grow with your stack. Obviously, you can make significantly more making larger trades per day, but they aren't going to be consistent. It's high risk/high reward due to the variance, so while it might be nice to make thousands of dollars a day on gains or even double your stack, you just have to keep telling yourself that you don't need to rush it, and those returns will come eventually if you stick the the game plan and gain experience. Most people are incapable of doing this because they get impatient or greedy, and they end up getting dumped on and having to start off at square one.So, a smart way to approach this would be to set pretty conservative limits to yourself and make sure not to over reach your daily or at least weekly numbers. Have you met your 1.0-2.0% gains for the day yet? Log out of your account, take a break, stop looking at charts, and go back to your day job/hobby/whatever. Don't let it consume you and don't let your life get engulfed by the fear of missing opportunities because you always will- stick the the game plan, at least until you're comfortable with your earnings. I also recommend not dealing with shitty/niche exchanges and sticking to something like bittrex. The have a good mix of solid/altcoins/shitcoins and are usually quick to add new currencies for new opportunies. They have good support and the ability to set stop losses.
>>3251076I just dont understand why anyone would sell OMG for anything less then 50 USD. This coin can literally be their golden ticket, yet people are SO impatient. Boggles the mind.
>>3251179Cheers m8, I'll get on YouTube later and drown myself in videos on the subject. I'll take 5k and use that as a starting point once I'm ready. And I'll always set tight stop losses
>>3251179Solid advice mate. Can i ask you a question? Between trading, where do you put your money? In more stable crypto's such as LTC or USD?
>>3251179Another way to get decent gains is looking into ICOs, but this generally requires more experience with cryptos and learning how to identify projects with new/unique technologies and market appeal, strong development teams, and strong backer support. Learning how to do this isn't really something you can read about, you just need to do learn it from experience and in comparison to other projects/feel. But I wouldn't even concern myself with this right now, if you stick to conservative day trades you can make sizeable returns with a year, and then you can start getting more creative with your trading and ways to profit off crypto when you are more comfortable with it. Right now is a great time for crypto and we are in a very bullish market right now, so theres not of gains to be had in general. One advantage to day trading over hodling and praying is that day traders are probably less affected by the markets. You don't have to be too concerned about being "attached" to a coin, your only real goal is just to read charts and sell when it goes up higher than you bought in at. Markets go up and down but a percent increase is still an increase, which is all day traders should be concerned about about securing.
OMG MOON CONFRIMED! Math has proved it. I bring you the truth.-Fractal patterns in trading are repeating price movements occuring on larger scales-The last moon was a fractal of the first moon (look at their shapes)While drawing a simple chart with a couple trend lines, I noticed on of the current stall point was exactly under one of these lines. Autism powers activated and I found trend lines creating a fan pattern and converging at a points back in earlier in the month. I then realized I could draw the old fractal on a larger scale perfectly just by using the past trend lines. And so it comes. The old fractal creates the new. I can't see this being a strange concidence. OMG moon confirmed, guys.Lets all love Lain

>>3251110If you're just beginning I'd suggest following the twitter/reddits of coins you're interested in. There's lots of discords/telegrams out there too and other communities. More experienced traders can find themselves in more exclusive/paid groups/insider info but you generally don't have to worry about anything like that at this point. Almost all my trading is done on bittrex these days and they have a handy chart on the front page about the % increase of certain coins during that particular day. If you ever see a coin spike to something like 20%-200%+ in one day, its definitely something to look into and follow up on. That does not mean you need to buy in at this time, but generally coins that make huge leaps in short times tend to correct, and make subsequent jumps or steadier gains at a later time (hours, days weeks) as they gain traction. This is generally when you want to get on the boat if you weren't lucky/stupid enough to jump on the ship during initial crazes. Historical data for a coin can also be useful, i.e. "weekend dips" or trading during a certain time, for example when China "wakes up". With many coins a lot of the fluctuations are like clockwork. If a coin has show high activity/volume or always dips by a few percent around the same time every day for 2 weeks, and always rises later in the day, chances are its going to continue that trend in the immediate future unless something significant happens, but logic dictates trades like this are pretty safe to capitalize on.Also pay attention to what miners are up to and what coins are being mined both in the ASIC/GPU community, as the most profitable coins to mine often change and can cause large fluctuations in market price due to supply and demand.

>>3251343never thought someone is at the same age as me here
>>3251412FUN has done well since you mentioned it a day or two back
>>3251228To be honest I have pulled back from trading a lot recently due to personal reasons, but I'm eager to actively return to it next month. I actually have not messed around with USDT yet but yes, I tend to keep most of my "cashed out" alt earning in what I call "solid coins" when I'm not actively making trades- BTC, LTC etc. ETH is fairly good as well and XMR might also be an upcoming standard when it gains more support and cools down.Since I've not been trading actively for the last number of weeks I'm currently actually hedging a chunk of my trading stack in NEO/OMG since I believe these are pretty good holds and have a lot of confidence in them, at least for now. My most recent "non-daytrading" activity has just been stuff like shifting my coins around solid coins like NEO, OMG, BNB, MTL, ADX, MCO etc. I've managed to catch some really big 7-35% gains per day in the last few days, but this is not usually how I approach trading for comfortable profit. It's nice to do every once in a while after you make stack you are comfortable with taking a chance on.If I need cash, I have a good relationship with some people I know in real life (met through localbitcoins) that I do large in-person transactions for a small fee. I actually have not ever claimed crypto earnings on my taxes, although if I plan on doing anything "on the books" with my earnings I'm going to have to at least start claiming some of it eventually.
>>3250457>hold pay ubq and omg just like /biz/ said>they all moon togetherfeels good man
WHY WONT IT DIP
>>3251291This is exactly what I mean about having discipline and just setting/meeting conservative goals. And I'll be the first to admit to setting alerts for my coins to wake up at 4 AM just to make a nice trade. But too much time staring at charts and obsessing at squeezing out extra gains = anxiety = less eating, less sleeping = poor health. Weak body = weak mind = poor decisions = LOSSES for both your wallet and your wellbeing as a person
>>3251544It's dropping now
>you were right all along
>>3251575As a hobby/side job/project 1-3 hours a max is good I'd say. It doesn't have to be consecutive work and could be one our in the morning and one in the night, or during your lunch time at work for example. If it's your primary or very significant source of income or your start getting some serious figures from the market, 6-10 hours a day max is reasonable. Lets say my goal is 2% a day and I happened to make 4-6% on that particular day on smart trades, I will generally reward myself or take a day off if I've been tired/working hard lately. If I would have made 4% over two days and made it in one day, there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to take a day off or hold back on trading to do something else.
ARGHGHHGG etc
>>3251661Thanks for your posts, seriously. I love learning about trading and the psychology of fomo and fud and overcoming it but I want to get more active with "day trading" after work. Can you recommend any resources to read up on daytrading in crypto or in general?
>>3251238One thing I've learned while trying to get into trading (and correct me if I'm wrong cause I am still pretty new to this), is that you can do a lot to manage your risk by learning how to correctly size your positions. This seems to be something a lot of people don't do (or don't get) -- they see a good opportunity and put their whole account into that coin and if it pays off they win big but if it collapses they lose everything. Instead, when you enter a trade figure out where your stop loss is going to be right then. Decide the point where if the price dropped to there it's more likely to keep going down than to rebound. Then, based on your strategy for how much of your account you want to risk at a time, you calculate your position, and that's what you put into the trade. So, lets say your trading account has 1BTC and you've decided you only want to risk 1% of your account on any given trade. You find an opportunity you like where the price is at 100 sats and you decide that if it hits 80 sats you want out -- it's more likely to keep dropping than not. 1% of your account is 0.01BTC, so to risk 0.01BTC on a 20 sat spread you just divide 0.01/0.0000002=50,000 coins. At 100 sats, 50,000 coins costs you 0.05BTC, so that's what you spend and you immediately set your stop loss order at 80 sats for the whole 50,000 coins, just in case the price tanks. On the upside you should also decide beforehand what you want to make based on where you think it could go, so you don't get into a situation later on where you hesitate to exit a trade because you're too emotionally invested in squeezing out that last little bit and end up holding on too long and losing out. So maybe you decide you always want to make 2% on a trade -- not that unreasonable given the volatility of a lot of these coins. (to be contd.)
>>3251708If you also set a limit sell when you first get into the trade (I've found a lot of exchanges won't actually let you place two orders for the same coins, but you can pretend you did and just do it manually with alerts), you remove all the emotion from the situation and it's easier to commit to your strategy. Now you're saying you only take trades where you can risk 1% of the account to gain 2%, so you have to be more careful about the trades you enter. But the nice thing about a strategy like this is you don't even have to be right a majority of the time! If you get it right half the time you will end up netting 1% per trade on average. Now, winning 2% on a trade vs. losing 1% means the price needs to go up twice as much as you've stop lossed down -- in our example the price needs to go up to 140 to "win" -- but this is where your analysis skills, experience, and practice come in. If you can consistently find trades that are 50/50 in this situation, you will net win 1% of your account every trade over the long term. Sometimes you will have several losers in a row but sometimes you'll have a couple wins in a row too. And in this example the price difference you were looking for was 40% up, which is a lot, but it doesn't have to be that way. Just another quick example: the price is 100,000 sats (0.001BTC), and you decide your stop loss is at 95,000 sats for a price drop of 5%. Also, you think it's reasonable for the price to rise 10% to 110,000 sats in the time period you're interested in -- in fact, you think it's at least a 50/50 shot. Same account, so 1% of 1BTC is 0.01BTC. Divide that into the stop loss spread to get the number of coins: 0.01/0.00005=200 coins. So you put 0.2BTC into this trade at 100,000 sats, set your stop loss sell order at 95,000 sats, and wait for it to (hopefully) hit 110,000 sats to cash out. (contd.)
>>3251722It may seem like you're risking a fifth of your account because you're spending 0.2BTC out of your 1BTC, but because you have the stop loss in place as soon as you start the trade, you are limiting your risk to that 1%. Then you just need to be disciplined to not move it because you think "oh it's ok if it goes down a little more, it'll come back up". If you can hit 50/50 on trades like, which does not at all seem unreasonable to me, you will average 1% of your account per trade. And you can (and should) always tailor your position size to the opportunity -- if you think something is a sure thing, say 80%, you can go 5 to 1 on your reward to risk and still come out ahead. Of course you need to be keeping good data of your trades to be able to know how accurate your estimates are, but you should be keeping a journal anyway if you're serious about learning to trade. If you do a trade or two a day at 1% of your account won on average, in a year you'll turn your 1BTC into a million dollars.
>>3251743You should just make an image and post it all at once.
>>3251743this might be a dumb question but I quickly found myself in a place with quite a bit of $$ in crypto. I have about 20k OMG. Say I wanted to try and trade part of my stack (prob 1/3) and try to accumulate, would selling 7,000 OMG at once effect the price very much? Or with this much volume does an amount like that not change much?
>>3251266Liskfag?
>>3251183>>3251251Just bought back in, and now I have 4.1 extra OMG. When these are 700 each that'll pay for a supermodel to sit on my dick.
>>3251661>>3251743Thank you both
>>3251813Just take a look at the order book and see for yourself. I don't know that I'd sell 7k OMG all at once, but you could probably do lots of 500 or 1000 or something over the course of a half hour, get more or less the same price, and not affect it at all. I'd maybe wait until there's less movement than now though, unless you really want out.
>>3251695I don't really have any particular sites, you can really just google stuff like "reading candlestick charts", "candle stick patterns" etc, use multiple strong/academic sources if you are able and cross-reference them to make sure they are in general saying similar things. Follow coins of interest on social media and keep an eye on the mining/forum scene. Most of learning how to do it is via experience since a lot of traditional financial/stock trading models aren't necessarily the same as crypto. You just need to get a feel for it and understand how it works. I can suggest some basic tools / more general advice:Get the TabTrader app (or ztrader as an alternative) on google play store- it's a fully featured trading app where you can link your exchange API keys and trade right on your phone and see your balances on exchanges. If you are holding coins or not actively trading with a stack for a time, avoid keeping it on exchanges. Problems/hacks of exchanges can happen at any time and the only 100% secure place for crypto is in your own properly secured wallet. You can still stick to the conservative method of low % daily profits without risking your whole stack every time, although it will take longer than a year to reach those "million dollar" numbers (can offset by going for higher % trades). When you meet certain profit goals, you can take a chunk out (always convert to something like BTC/fiat first) and "hodl" that while continuing to trade with the rest. If shit hits the fan you will at least have "something", but it will make the process take longer.Stick to exchanges like Bittrex as I mentioned before. Sites like Coinigy ($20/mo) are also really great and I use them personally. They connect to most popular exchanges including bittrex and you and trade right on those sites with multiple exchanges via API without actually needing to log in and manage accounts of 20 different exchange websites at the same time. Indispensable tools+better charts.
>>3251813>>3251813op here, let me be a begging faggot and ask for the 30 omg i lost trying to daytrade the first time0xf579646947c6c3dfde8d6b8871310d650bf86822please anon how the hell do you have that much 20k x 9 thats 180k just in omg
Ok so, is there going to be "the news" for the OmiseGo and not Omise?
For example: just sold NEO at 757k, rebought at 662k. Sold again at 772k and re-bought at 750k. Massive gains over a short period, but even if you set proper stop losses here its trivial to have made at least 3-5% here.
>>3251743imo the most important thing psychologicaly is a good entry price.a low price puts your mind at ease so you can make clear headed decisions later on
>>3251915Thanks, not going to try it anymore too stressful since I am emotionally invested at this point hard to not let FOMO get me.>>3251956All in and being very hopeful. Ive lost like 1000 daytrading it, but gained 1800 or so. Overall gaining 800 was not worth the immense stress
>>3252191its kinda hard to do when you only have 200 omg and the bittrex sell fee is 1 omg already
>>3252123If you're doing short-term/day trading, I find entry prices are less of a big deal as opposed to long term holding/flipping. If there's fairly high volume at the time too, you generally don't even need to make entry point decisions based on longer period charts as well. If something is on a fairly strong uptrend or has great support, and you've been doing your research on the coin or have been monitoring recent historical activity, I find it almost almost impossible to not be able to make 1-2% gains after a few trades by entry on even 1 to 5 minute charts. I frequently manage to do this even with as low as one buy/sell.Generally having some kind of real-time display from websocket data using API/bots can make it easier to see whats going on in the books. If used properly, trading bots can take a lot of the stress and allow you to capitalize on a lot more opportunities as well
0xa23a8e6e3df9a5f1d7bfb245817745b3e5b9b48cSend me some ETH or OMG
>>3252221How about you fuck off?
Another suggestion is once you've made enough money from trading (at least 10-20k or so), is to buy a dedicated laptop for trading/wallet storage, using encryption/Linux for security. It's also a good idea to of course have numerous backups or paper/hardware wallets as well.
>>3252370For those of you working with bigger accounts (like $100k+), have you ever used a hardware wallet? I've heard of Trezor and the idea is interesting but not sure if people who trade are actually using that kind of thing.
I started with 7.98 OMG and now here i am at 8.21851085 wow im an excellent trader!!!
>>3252088Yes
>>3252463bossmodus activated
>>3252432I use it for storage or ICO investments. The coins I daytrade with I keep on exchanges. So far I average between 18-73% returns monthly so when my stack gets too large I convert to ETH and BTC (even split), send to storage, and continue trading with the rest.
>>3252515you dont cash any to fiat?
>>3252515How long has it taken you to get to this point? How long have you been trading that you can generate that kind of return? And do you trade full time?My ideal situation would be to trade full time so I can work for myself from home, but it's kind of just a daydream at this point, it doesn't seem very realistic.
Start shoveling that coal bois!
>>325027326BTC*4400USD = $114000$114000/908000000 marketcap = 0.013% aint gonna do shit
>>3252603Nah, I'm sitting comfortably at the moment. My wage covers my expenses and then some so there's really no reason to cash out yet. I also have some traditional investments (stocks, 401k, IRA) so I'm not too horribly worried.>>3252657Like six months - give or take a few days. I don't include NEO in the returns because I consider that abnormal returns. I don't day-trade full time, but I do it intermittently throughout the day whenever possible. My work is mostly flexible so I can put it on hold and trade for a bit if I notice major swings or any news I want to take advantage of. After work I usually spend a few hours researching/trading because I enjoy it.Realistically, I should be able to do it full-time if I wanted to, but at that point I'd have to convert sone to fiat semi-regularly and it would be taxed as income. I'm sure it would probably lose some of it's fun if I actually had to depend on it for a "stable" income too.

ok goys. have 400 OMG hodl bag. have 7.x eth incoming friday. what should i buy? to diversify:kyber ico, bitdice, blackmoon, chainlink(if i get in), ???
>>3258247IOC and ECC if you are willing to wait a bit but these are your next 10x underground coineroons. Do your own research though, din’t just listen to my shilling.
>>3258258on the fence about kyber. will do some in bitdice, but im fearing the omg moon b4 bitdice distribute token, etc
>>3258299Yea maybe. IOC is the most promising project to me. They are launching their product in 3 weeks, has been in development for 2 years and has massive upside for users. It’s a coin that has been flying under the radar for way too long now. With the 16mil supply and 42 mil market cap things won’t stay the same for any longer. I am thinking 50mil market cap by the end of sept, but I am biased since I have about 1k IOC and 500 OMG myself. Plus ECC, also hetting a product out pretty soon and has beenn under the radar. We’ll see how this plays out tho.
>>3258415500mil mkc for IOC sorry.
>>3250946>1.5%literally telling me I should sell with a 2k sat gain
What are your guys' plans for the August news? Are you guys expecting it to dip afterwards? Trying to decide whether I should sell at the top and buy back in once it dips
What's the best wallet to hold OMG in? Are there any good android wallets?
