You’re not wrong but honestly you must be pretty new here if it reminds you of “one” token. For at least a year, ever since uniswap made access to token not listed on exchanges easy, there have been 4 or 5 meme token being shilled at any given time on /biz/.

Now, some meme projects are actually fake, in the sense that they are rugpulls where the creator will simply pull out all liquidity and take people’s money. Some are just ponzis, which aren’t exactly “fake”, they’re just short term transfers of capital from those who end up on the losing end of it to the winners.
