Well to start accumulating dogecoin you can either mine them (need a GPU for that) or go buy them on any market selling them.
If you prefer the former I would suggest reading up on one of the many litecoin mining guides (you'll find a bunch of them on google/youtube, I recommend doing your own research on that - specifically for doge there's http://doges.org/index.php?topic=592.0 but it isn't very proper for my taste or the dogemining subreddit).
Then there's the latter which consists of converting fiat to bitcoin (again, google will be helpful) and with that buying up doge on exchanges like http://vircurex.com, https://coinedup.com, https://www.swisscex.com, etc. or buying doge directly with fiat on http://vaultofsatoshi.com, https://www.kraken.com or https://prelude.io..

I'm glad I got on board because I really like the feeling when being with a coin that is rising. especially one that was almost dead and has quite a history. makes things even more interesting.

Would've felt terrible if I discovered this later and realized I never said anything. Y'all are awesome. I don't care if panda never makes it to the moon, it's already gone through so much and pulled through. Even when the price tanked, I would look at the threads, and sometimes they'd be quiet and there would be FUDs mocking us, but then I'd turn to the pool and see the difficulty at like 10 and know that just because nobody was talking, it didn't mean the coin was abandoned. The pool picks random coins that are profitable on the market. It lets the miners mine them in order to sell them right after for the coin you want to buy, in your case PND. In an ideal case you would be getting out more PND in the end over normal mining, depending on the difficulty and price of PND. Additionally the multipool is creating buying pressure as well.
