29942959 No.29942959 [Reply] [Original]

I put my inheritance into GRT at 60 cents and made a lot of money.

I have 60k GRT delegated right now but all the fud has been getting to me, idk even know what it does I just thought that the chart looked good when I buyed.

If I sold all my GRT I could get 4,000 link.

Should I do it? I know the Oracle problem is really big and isn’t GRT just a simple API? How is that worth 25 billion?

why not just sell half your stack for Link. I am in both (poorfag) but I have a lot of faith in GRT. Calling it a simple API isn't really accurate since it's been unsuccessfully copied and Pancake Swap reached out to GRT to integrate it directly on twitter

Because I don’t like diversifying, if I decide LINK is better than GRT why would I keep any GRT?

Just go all in with what you feel best about.

LINK's cap is pegged to the #11 cap. If GRT is at least allowed priced discovery go with that. LINK is more like an index for the aggregate of the entire market beneath it. May as well be an index fund.

A normie family member of mine works in shipping. One day a few years ago he came to me and asked what a "blockchain" was. I said I would be happy to explain, but I wanted to know why he was interested. He said that automated shipping and automated ports were becoming a thing, and they were all going to run on blockchain.

The thing about blockchain is that it is sequential, like an old school VHS tape. You can trace transactions one by one, but there isn't any good way to search through the blockchain for specific information. Or at least there wasn't any good way, until The Graph.

So say for example you want to find all bills of lading valued at over $1M between Jan 1 2020 and Dec 31 2021. Or all the times a certain captain docked at a certain port. GRT makes that possible via GraphQL. It is literally the missing link between crypto and the real world, particularly when it comes to automation (THE industry of the next decade), and it is going to make its hodlers insanely wealthy over the next 5-10 years.

So hold on to your GRT for dear life, anon, keep delegating and compounding, and give praise and thanks to God that you got in so early

GRT is cheaper and moving up fast again right now. I'd stay with GRT much every coin looks like it's going back up right now. GRT also has better potential to double your investment now just by hitting $3. LINK has to hit $45 or so which is just a longer wait to increase $25 over $2 so GRT better short term hold.

>> No.29944507

>> No.29944675

Ok but why do I need a token for that? Why not just make an open source API on github and call it a day? Traversing a blockchain isn't particularly compute intensive and can happen clientside. Also, GraphQL has mostly fallen out of vogue because security is difficult and REST APIs are easier to document and normalize.

If the massive bullrun from a few weeks ago kept going I'd say GRT to $5 this spring and $10 by summer and $20 EOY similar to how LINK quickly grew. Everything took a dump but GRT is pumping back up slightly faster than others so I have faith it'll be $3 again during next run then I'd prob swing it for easy x2.

Watch the next few weeks and if things go bull again and if it breaks $3 then $5 without crabbing more than a week, $10 is next.

Someone told me GRT is just a json parser

>> No.29944952

>>29944817
I get that you're referring to the link meme, but the thing is there is inherent value in the chainlink network because of node reputation. GRT doesn't need to establish trust, it just needs to convert data from one format to another. If the library was clientside then you could validate its output yourself.

>> No.29944975

>>29944675
>why do i need a token for that
Because indexing the information on the chain is time and energy intensive, and deserves to be compensated
>traversing a blockchain isn't particularly compute intensive
Lmfao what? I mean yeah maybe if you're only interested in sequential reading. Get back to me when you can pull every transaction between [arbitrary date range] valued at [arbitrary dollar amount] with JSON. There's a reason why BNB tried to fork GRT but gave up and decided to play ball instead

The entire BTC blockchain throughout all its history is only ~300 GB. The entire ETH blockchain is ~1.5 GB. I've worked with larger git repos, where traversing the entire merkle tree only takes about 30 seconds on a reasonably powerful computer. GRT: Literally just Grep As A Service(tm)

If defi takes off in the next few years, the possibilities of what could be bought, sold, or processed on chain are endless. Graph would be positioned to offer its services to the explosion of new apps if such a defi explosion occurs. This is why it's a long term hold.

LINK has the power hold on the market now, that's for sure. most of it deserved. but there's something about the potential of an oracle that can leverage its own original data sets to come to price points that makes me feel better
